As you kind of say yourself, we can't ask for a guy who's as good defensively and better in attack. That would be Lahm.

Lahm is one of those once every five years all-rounders. The German Seedorf.
Agree with the homie Qs: we need a much better attacking full back. Bring in Aurier with Bender being asked to hold a bit more and I think we have slightly better balance.

What's the status of Bellerin in all this? He's still regarded as likely to make it in a couple of years, last I heard.

He was recalled from Watford a while back. I'm not sure why but that's usually not a good sign. Those who don't make headlines when we send them out on loan generally don't get a shot at the first team.

They changed to a three man defence which left him on the bench apparently. Earned a MotM at least once while there.

Still very young at this point.

It depends, I suppose. He's the same age as Luke Shaw. If he's the real deal you'd expect him to show it soon given his schooling.

They changed managers soon after Bellerin arrived and they had an established RB who was decently well-regarded anyway. I don't think his recall is any huge indictment of his ability. By all accounts, he held his own at that level.

Shaw is a beast athletically that helps massively. Bellerin is very decent when I have seen him at at youth level, but he needs more size to him.

If you say it quickly enough or after a few pints it'd sound like we have Sergio Aguero

Neat eh

That'd be quite a lot of pints sir

For me, I reckon 3 would do it. Not very good with the alcohol these days! 🙂

Some journo who looks like french Ben Fairthorne is reporting we are signing him ...

ITK season hotting up. Aurier is a good guess after it is becoming obviously clear that Sagna is leaving.

He heard it from a friend and a reliable source.
Now we've heard it from him.

Is Aurier significantly better than Jenkinson? Could he be as good as Sagna was ?

aurier is miles better than jenkinson and could effectively cover many positions on the pitch. quality addition

From what I can gather in attack he is far better than Sagna or Jenkinson, in defence he is good but has a few technical issues. I read one article where they mention he sometimes jumps into the tackle rather than jockeying the player and he tends to play for offside when it isn't on. Like Sagna he can play CB if required as well.

One thing we need to be wary of is we will lose him for January due to the African cup of nations so need to make sure we have sufficient backup, have heard rumours of Jenkinson going out on loan.

Thanks Jazz.
If we are intending to sign hope it's tied up early.
There's no need to let this level of business to the last minute.

Would be good if we can get this one done quickly, at least we won't have to worry about the right back situation.
