Two Koscielnys would be a much worse pairing than 1 Koscielny and 1 Mertesacker. 2 Koscielnys is basically Koscielny and Vermaelen, and that is a shit partnership.
Matthias Ginter

I'd put every last cent into finding the next Koscielny personally, and I know that Ginter isn't that player.
He could be the next Per and then we'll look for the next Koacielny?
Get lovren in a years time
Ginter doesn't look a Per type.

Amen. Or get him this summer.

Not comparing their styles just saying he could be the one to take over from Per.
We don't want another Per type anyway.
I do believe the best partnerships in recent years have been with one guy being more of an excellent reader of the game and the other being a good reader of the game but being more reactive and super athletic to respond if things go tits up.
Koscielny reads the game incredibly well. It's just that he is more aggressive and plays the game on the edge, thus needs a more steady player next to him.
I think Kos is pretty much the complete package too. Under other circumstances he could easily have been the more measured defender.
It seems to me that he lacks in the leadership/organizing department.
More than anything I think that's part of the artificial narrative that we tend to construct around certain players.
Don't think so.
Yes you do.
Of course I do. Thanks for setting my straight! What the feck was I thinking?!
No worries! Glad we sorted this out.

He does but not as well as someone like Per. Not a bad thing and unlike someone like Kolo who only had the physical attributes Kos is quite switched on.
Koscielny reads the game as good as anyone. His problems are his meek personality and his lack of inches. I hear it's like a coke can.
He is often too aggressive in our box too. There really is no problem, as long as he has a BFG next to him. You just have to accept that not everyone is a Tony Adams or Franco Baresi when it comes to organizing and leading.
he's not vocal, i wonder if he can even speak english. never heard him give an interview before. also read somewhere that he's given up 7 penalties this season. he's overaggressive in our box, there are a lot of divers out there.
other than that, he is fantastic. definitely in the conversation for best CB in the league. if he cut out the mistakes (and they do still happen), there wouldn't even be a conversation.
