Name 'em and shame 'em then
Julian Draxler

where did you hear this?
We're not signing Hernanes.
It seems possible that the transfer fee is the issue, and the end of the transfer window is necessary to bring the two sides to an agreement.
Hernanes has had a poor season so far but I would bloody love him at Arsenal.
Future Arteta replacement? He isn't much younger though, and not sure he has Mikel's tackling/interception game.

That's my thinking. Would make it easier to rotate all across midfield too. The modern Edu.

Re: Draxler - Has a meeting with Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt tomorrow. Declared fit? - Some at Schalke says: He is off! - Others: Off in summer 1/2
If we don't sign anyone this window, it's going to be so deflating. Even if someone like Draxler probably wouldn't have an immediate affect, I really think the club needs something to get excited about so that we go into our difficult run of fixtures feeling optimistic.
I feel optimistic enough even without signings
This is never going to happen. Quote me on this
There will be a lot of depressed gooners on Sat morning then.
The question is will signing Draxler make the ultimate difference in our quest to win the title?
In 2004 if we didn't sign Reyes we would have still won the title.
In 1996 if Newcastle did not sign Asprilla they would have prob won the title too.

It basically says what has been obvious for a while: there's been no official contact between Arsenal and Schalke, and they don't want let go of a player who might help them secure Champions League anyway. They are only two points behind Dortmund at the moment. Want him? Then pay the 45 million euros in the summer when the release clause is activated.
Thanks.
Makes sense from their point I guess.
Oh well, we got to rely on what we got.
Come Feb 8th that's when our season really starts and we have to be on it.
Pissed. Even though he probably wouldn't contribute much this season I kind of really wanted him. Seems like a really talented player. Oh well, we'll just have to see what Arsene pulls out of the bag over the next few days.
That's pretty much exactly how I feel. Regardless of what he contributed signing him now would've boosted the whole squad and created a sense of optimism and excitement.
It's a bit sad to be sitting on top of the table and thinking it's still actively unlikely we'll win any silverware this season.
I know what you mean. I'm always with United and Liverpool fans who try say we have no chance winning it. I mean those saying that are chatting shit because how can you claim we have no chance when we're top. Granted City do look a lot more likely, we're top on merit. It's not like we've only been top for a week or two. We've been here for so long yet it still feels unlikely. If we win it now it'd probably be one of Arsene's greatest victories considering it was almost universally expected we wouldn't even qualify in the top 4 this season.
It is probably because of how we are playing this season. Not creating much chances, but relying on scoring and then scrapping for victories compared to City who is steamrolling every team.
The last time we won the title in 2004, we steamrolled teams and created loads of chances in every match.
