Now the transfer window has closed, the issue at hand is Wenger's extension. Rumors suggest that there are 2 years on the table.

Has Ozil won back your faith or do you believe Wenger will hold us back?

I'm pretty sure if we had Klopp or someone they too would have managed to complete this deal ๐Ÿ˜†

As if Wenger has worked a miracle here...

We'll thank him for building us to this position, and get someone else to drive us forward.

Too early.

Lets see what he does with an Ozil Arsenal first.

His last contract signings were in August and September. I think it is time.

Either way things are going to come to a head now.

Wenger's going to have to deliver. Probably will get another extension now though,

One transfer doesnt make up for 8 years of failure.

agree with alf. i'm pumped about our first real signing in ages, but... it's our first real signing in ages. and we still dont have a good striker. lets see what this team actually does before rushing to judgment.

This thread is the perfect opportunity to see who the flip floppers are ๐Ÿ˜†

I voted no. Has to be replaced by the right man though.

a definite hell no. our newly developing german core should make us a little bit more attractive to a klopp. and ozil would probably not make a big fuss about how he came to play for wenger or some shit.

Was about to say the same est.
Just enjoying the feeling of making the biggest signing of the transfer season and adjusting to the notion that we are genuinely entering a second phase in the post Highbury era.
There's no arguing with the fact that signing Ozil equals a massive shift in direction.
For me that's something that I need to see play out through the season.
I know this will constitute flip-flopping for some, so be it. I'm not going to stick to a position just to avoid being lambasted on here ๐Ÿ™‚
For me this is an event big enough to make me pause and at least consider that I was wrong in thinking we'd be better off with a new manager.

The fact Ozil cites him as the reason to join says it all for me. Our financial position today is mostly thanks to him and he deserves to carry this on and finish the job off.

He is so highly respected by his peers and other fans but thought of so poorly by his own, so disappointing really. I think he will turn things around and do believe the signing of Ozil will change things, we can compete at the top end now and I think more big signings will be coming within the next year.

I wouldn't call it 8 years of failure mate, you might judge him solely on trophies but he has done a lot for the club over the past 8 years. A lot wrong as well to be fair but he has worked miracles considering how little he has had to spend in some years.

While I appreciate the fact that Wenger seems to have been a big influence in ร–zil coming here, the cons still outweigh the pros for me. Wenger out, hopefully Klopp in.

That is blatantly untrue Alf.

It will be 9 years when this seasons even If we do win something.

He still left us short. No backup striker and winger. Some might say a defender as well.

No from me. He's got the season to forge a few memories, then bring in Klopp and it's Arsenal รœber Alles โ€ฆ

I've wanted him gone for three years "under the right circumstances", a signing won't change that, a major trophy could.
