We've been interested in hundreds of players, doesn't mean you bid on all of them. Which is my point, this isn't part of any plan, this is us bidding on anyone and everyone.

I doubt we are for this player at the levels spoken about, i also don't think that will be the approach overall. Wenger seems adamant not to go into the market in a rash way which is fine however we are short and I think he seems perfectly happy at this point letting it ride out unless someone decent is available at a decent price.
The latest is yesterday we offered 30 million euros + Podolski to Schalke for Draxler. This off a decent twitter account, no ITK so i would like to believe it.
Would rather keep Poldi and top up ₤15m. We need depth.

Based on very good sources: Yesterday Arsenal offered Schalke 30 mill Euro and @Podolski10 to get Julian Draxler. #skybuli #afc
fjortoft has a lot of sources in germany. could be true.
I don't rate Podolski, but we have to add numbers to the squad, not just replace.
He also responded to Honigstein's tweet saying there's a 20% chance of getting Draxler by saying there's a 5% chance. So we might have bid but the consensus is they don't want to sell and he isn't going to froce a move.
We offered them Podolski who is injured for 10 weeks? How would that even work?
what the fuck is going on.
we're not signing draxler. it's too little too late.
That Podolski thing sounds like something we would do. Wenger really doesn't like him, does he?
Why buy him then? Was clearly not a panic buy.
While I'm sure he is an awesome prospect we need players who are already there. If he is coming in to compliment a couple top players fair enough but we might not have many other options left....
Using a player with a 10 week hamstring tear as a make-weight in a deal, yeah right sure.

would be even more idiotic and embarassing than our efforts to sign suarez. better not be true
Hasn't Fjortoft got loads wrong so far this summer? And offering a player that's out for 3 months? Sure. Stupid offer, anyway, we need the depth!
Its clear as day Wenger don't like what Podolski offers to us on the left. He prefers players that gets more involved in our overall play.
Well, he's not going to offer much from the treatment table, that's for sure. Suspect Schalke might realise this.
Quick, edit your post before Daily Fail picks up on Wenger's tactic.
But its a muscle tear clubs will expect a full recovery. A lot of clubs would still be interested in our goal machine. Why would 30m and podi be a poor offer ?
With the two year contract he signed at the end of the season with Schalke, it's all a bit non-urgent from the perspective of both player and club.
