So why did he bid £30m plus for Suarez then, Biggus?
For the craic? đŸ™‚

I don't know exactly if we did bid 30M but it would have been funny if it was accepted.

I think that shows he is willing to pay that for a top striker, whether he's going to go further remains to be seen.

Err no it shows that we bid for the rat faced one, nothing more.

Much and all as you'd like us to believe he's the caricature of the crazy old has been, he isn't.
We are in the market for a class striker this summer but there will be some major haggling before we part with the money.

Well I say he is, his behaviour hasn't improved he continues to be erratic and play games- IF we have money and IF he's prepared to spend it, any normal sane manager would have identified the player(s) he MUST have to complete his jigsaw early and pulled out all the stops to secure him instead of fannying around on French tv...
This is Wengers way he hasn't changed he's a bloody disgrace as a manager it's no wonder we've won nothing for what will be 9 years.

You've become a parody of yourself Biggus when it comes to Wenger.

***NEWSFLASH****

Biggus hates Wenger and wants him gone!

In other news- Elvis is still dead!

Suarez is the total package cunt:

  • he dives
  • he deliberately tries to injure other players
  • he is selfish (also on the pitch)
  • he is racist (though that is the least of his crimes considering the 'victim' was Evra).

I could forgive him if he had the skills of Maradona, but he doesn't. He's a good player but definitely not the genius people are making him out to be. We can do better for that price.

The problem is mate we can't.

Cavani & Falcao - Too expensive
Lewandowski - Dortmund don't want to sell and he wants Bayern move.
Rooney - I think he prefers a Chelsea move over us.
Higuain - R.Madrid dicking us about by jacking up the price at last minute
Jovetic - Not sure if he wants to join us and his club asking for too much money

I think another problem for us is we don't have the pull to bring in players like we once could. So players won't exactly fight to join us so the likes of Suarez might be one of the few genuine options we have in that tier of strikers. I suppose Higuain and Jovetic available for £30mill + but I don't think either at the moment is as good as Suarez. Also you pay a premium for getting a player who is already settled in this country, don't want to sign an expensive player and they can't adapt.

We almost certainly can find a better way of spending £40m.

Not on one player we can't, well imo. That is factoring in that the player who would actually want to join us

the only other reasonable alternative is to not sign a striker at all, but spend the money on a winger, a central midfielder and maybe a defender.

Rooney is better than Suarez now and Jovetic will be better soon if he continues to develop.

Arsenal singning multiple quality players in 1 month? No chance with the way we are doing things. The rumor mill is awfully quiet as well regarding other players.

Keeping our powder dry at the moment—and Dick Law's polishing his knob.

Like I said mate with Rooney he probably doesn't even want to join us, I think all along he has been waiting for Chelsea to get interested and will join them. Problem with Jovetic can we justify signing another project and also he has been making more noises about Juve than us so like Rooney he might be holding out for a better club, then on top Fiorentina have put a high price on his head.

Suarez isn't ideal, I can't say I'm completely comfortable after his antics but might be the best we can do. I won't deny this but maybe I am getting a bit desperate as well and overlooking the bad side of Suarez....

Oddly, I'd trust Suarez to outperform Rooney here.

While you risk Suarez biting/getting racist I just fear a fat, discontent Rooney.

Is not just that Jazz, you and most people are ignoring the potentially destructive effect someone like Suarez would have with his antics Gallas would seem like a model team player by comparison, we're no darlings of the media as it is we've no real leader on or off the pitch......This is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Lucky Wenger has a psychological condition that prevents him from spending money.

If Suarez stays fit and doesn't get any more suspensions, he'll probably be the best striker in the league. I think he definetely has the potential to have a much bigger impact on our team than any other striker we could buy.

In fairness to Suarez, has there ever been any suggestion that hes been a problem in the dressing room? Problem for the club, but not for team unity.

He'll give it his all all game long. Stays aggressive and motivated. Extremely competitive and would go to war for his teammates. Asset on set pieces, and would provide moments of magic. Great finisher.

Yeah, he's a scumbag. But he's an extremely talented scumbag who would be excellent for our team.

Plus, he's a victim.

Bring him in.

Maybe I'm being a bit unfair, he does have the ability to united his team behind him.
