By "worse" I presume you mean funnier EB, I'm just enjoying sitting back watching them dig themselves deeper into this hole.

Must say that I'm still very surprised by the number of us who welcomed signing this cunt.

I'm surprised they even went as high as 40m for such a player (by that I mean his baggage) so even if we fail with Suarez ( I can't fault them for refusing to pay a price I would not pay) this will go a long way to redeem our image as a club without ambition.

Yes, it'll go a long way further if we actually land a big fish though.

Once you are going over £40m we should definitely be looking at other big name targets.

Who do you have in mind? There are probably quite a few players we could start to get some leverage on with that sort of money. But Benteke's re-signed and isn't worth it, Michu's not worth it, Lewandowski seems tied down, Jovetic has moved ...

Suarez is probably interested, but I don't think Liverpool will sell to us in a million years no matter the size of the bid. Have to say, it pisses me off that Jovetic went to City for £26 million while we're wasting our time here.

Wages probably ruled him out. He seems a less proven player than our other targets too, though I don't know him well.

Did it ever get released who had an offer accepted for El Shaarawy? He was probably City's first choice over Jovetic, but then he isn't too dissimilar to Suarez in playing style which makes me consider we were the mystery club.

FFS Burnsy 50M- as Ruby Wax said 'Thats the sort of serious money that could open anyones legs'.
Hell even Fabragas (although it pains me to say it) would be money better spent.

Galliani just told El Sha about the 30m+ euros offer, and El Sha said he was a Milan fan, had enough $, and did not want to leave. I don't think they ever accepted the offer from the unknown club.

If we could recode Fabregas's DNA for £40-50m I'd be well up for it, but I didn't want to raise his name in conversation with Qs for fear of being sprayed with holy water ... 🙂

Hey if I can say the F- word anyone can.

The press are saying Suarez will tell Liverpool he wants to join Arsenal and possibly put in a transfer request, his agent and maybe Arsenal both believe clause in his contract states no CL football means anything over £40mill and they must sell. Suarez might get lawyers involved so this might get messy.

Liverpool being thoroughly unprofessional about all this, all the leaks about the bid are coming their end IMO. Rodgers even confirming what both are bids have been for. Like I said earlier they are just going through the motions to get the max they can for player.

Yeah, they're pretty full of it. £40m is more than enough for him too, and it sounds like we may already be at £42m. That's a massive amount, even now that'd be in the top ten transfer fees of all time.

The threat of a legal challenge might explain Henry's bravado on Twitter as well. Fuck it feels weird typing "Henry" and not thinking of the great man. 🙂

I guess the side issue is that Madrid may well outbid us at that level if they decide to.

Read those words again Jazz- Suarez wants to join Arsenal.
So much wrong....

I find this all very distracting. Even when the evra incident happened i never had much interest in it and hardly gave it attention. However i find myself increasingly compelled to make a choice/stand. And TBH i am not sure who is right and who is wrong.

My instinct is to trust AW and be happy that we are getting Suarez, a player who i clearly rate. But you can see noise around him is affecting me.

Any links that can summarise the Evra incident for me...?

No matter what your opinion on Suarez, or your opinion about how desperate we are as a club for a top player, it takes a special kind of guts/crazy to try to sign a character like Suarez. I'd be surprised if many thought Wenger had it in him. the sheer amount of shit he's going to put us through is mental. But...y'know...at least there's never going to be a dull moment.

Also luckily for us, Suarez doesn't seem the type to be worried about little bit scouse death threats.

Madrid have apparently admitted that they have no interest in Suarez. Still don't know where that rumour was coming from.

😆 If we're the only bidders Liverpool might call our bluff and we might actually have to buy the little shit.

Piss off you fat little fuck.

😆

I read about 6 pages of that thread and i can conclude Liverpool acted like complete wierdo's! Dalglish etc screwed Suarez more by their clumsy defense of him than he himself.

Err so Liverpool screwed Suarez, m'kay.......Would you say that Luis was the real victim in all of that?

That's not what i said Biggus. Okay I admit LFC did not screw him up but they sure did not cover themselves or him with glory with their spastic like defending of the incident.

For some reason I find the thought of Rooney here more abhorrent than the thought of Suarez here.
