In all seriousness, I think it is fair to say that pretty much every Arsenal fan would like the club to be a little less concerned with the bottom line. The difference is how much. We have the Biggus school who are of the opinion that we need to spend petro cash, and then there are those who quite like the idea of self sustainability.

And even then there's no guarantee of success Rex, but one things for sure- the conservative Wenger/Kroenke method is a one way ticket to mediocrity because it's based on a static model of a flat earth not moving, but things change maybe the FA will lose their 4 CL spots or we'll miss out some other way......

Wenger is from the France - German border and can speak fluent German.

Do you reckon he sounds a little german?

Wouldn't mind if he bought a few little Germans; Reus, Lahm, Gundogan...

Not fussy. A Pole would do, just so i can read something like this in the summer.
"Arsenal's new striker, Robert Lewandowski, is delighted his former manager has agreed to join him at the Emirates."

Y va, get 'em out of here! that stuff should be in the Wish list.

I think Y'va is asleep.
This is the antipodean and Bandy shift.

How come you're awake Tone?

Working on a project with developers who fix something, mess up what worked previously and now i am in danger of missing a deadline. Not good

Best of luck then don't work too hard.

He is right though.

:hmm: What is wrong in what he said?

I think the lady is saying we need another left back.

Have no idea what you are on about. A few too many beers perhaps?

“I believe that this club is today in a very, very strong position and has gone through a very sensitive period in a very intelligent way. After that, everything is here to have a great future."

I don't really follow the accounts of the club, so what's different now? How and why are we out of the "sensitive period" now?

Or is this just Wenger winding up the fans as usual?

Well let me spell it out for you Rex, if everything at the club is so perfect and we're still floundering, all that remains is to mange it properly- So that must be the problem.
As Sherlock Holmes would say 'Eliminate all other factors, and the one which remains must be the truth.'

It's interesting that he disassociates himself from the bad coaching over the last 6-7 years.

Nothing at all. He keeps fucking it up and then saying "all we need to do is not fuck it up." It's true, but amusing.

You shouldn't put too much weight on what imaginary persons say Gus. Just some advice.
The sensitive period was the building of the stadium. We all knew we would be strapped for cash during that period. Check.
Strong financial situation due to renegotiating our main sponsorship deals. Check.
Good young players with a bright future. Check (unless you don't feel Wilshere, Gibbs, Jenko, Ramsey, Walcott, AOC, etc warrants that statement).
Good fanbase. Check.

So, what were you laughing about again?

City are about to change managers.
United are about to change managers.
Chelsea are about to change managers.
We've just added £25m pa to our revenue.
Wenger's contract ends at the end of next season.
There will be plenty of players moving in the summer.
Time for Wenger to seize the initiative and redeem himself.

Strictly speaking, we haven't added anything yet. Not that it matters much.

It does feel like a potential turning point this summer.

Now more than anything wenger needs to break the 25m barrier, next season its Chelsea or us for the title if we spend big.

As you well know, it's a much bigger deal to have the guaranteed annual revenue boost from 2015-2020ish than it is to have a one off of £25m right now. Means we can sustain wages where needed for starters.

Wenger must realize he is being provided an opportunity for a fresh start, a clean slate with all these events occurring simultaneously, providentially.

We absolutely have to make it count for something next season, and not just aim to attain trophy type 3/4 or whatever it's called.

I think the clean slate's illusory, because you know that Chelsea and City will give their new managers money to spend, and that they'll be quality managers too, Mourinho and Pellegrini the way things are shaping up … but there's no reason we can't challenge them, and United, with the right additions and a renewed seriousness of intent.

Last few seasons it has been obvious from the off—not just to us, but to the squad—that our challenge was half-hearted.

Whatever happens I'm glad there's going to be a renaissance in the PL because the last couple of years have been fucking stale (final day of last season aside) with lame duck managers waiting for the sack or retirement. Was just thinking the other week that there wasn't a sitting PL manager who'd ever win the European Cup.

Change all around and a bumper new money deal for us.
Feeling good about all of that
... Chelsea got to, have to, must win tonight though

Even Nela's gone from really really hating it all to just hating it all!

If Chelsea wins today I'll be doing a jig

Time for Wenger to piss off too, he's had too long his time has passed and we're sick of him.
Tempus fugit.

if the puma deal is real then chrome dome is off my shit list. he's not responsible for our player recruitment, the things i hold him responsible for are financial and this kit deal is a home run if true. although he needs to start getting more innovative with these sponsorship deals, create new areas of opportunity, not just the same ones that every other club except united is doing.

😆

It really is now or never though. If we don't spend a big chunk of money this summer then we have no intention of competing.

Oh it's the same every other year, all the big sides have gone through regeneration before- nothing happened, Wenger said that now was the time for a group of players to prove themselves- nothing happened.
Wenger is past it and washed up nothing will happen, rinse and repeat.

You know I'd be happy if he walked this summer, but if he doesn't, he's facing up to a year where all his excuses count for even less. It's time to act.

It's been like that for 4-5 years Burnsy.
