Never seen him play, in a match or even on youtube, so I'm not in any position to comment on his ability, but he would be very underwhelming for me

Hope we get this lad
If he has half of nasri's ability and two more testicles, we've got a very good player. Lets see.
Would he be a starter for us? Squaddy? What position would he play? What is his shooting power on pes?

More importantly, is he 85+ on Fifa?
i am completely uninformed about this guy, and will remain so until i see him play for us. lets pray he's sagna/kos level rather than giroud/gervais.
i wonder where he fits. i doubt he'll walk into the first 11. he's the right age to be phased in while arteta/rosicky are phased out
"I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join," said Grenier.
"I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them
."There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision.
"I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them."
I guess we can start prepping a Grenier thread in "The Arsenal" section then.
If anything I think he's similar to Arteta at Everton.
He is?
In what way?
Started 20 L1 games this season, scored 7 goals and had 6 assists.
Just youtubed the shit out of him. Plays like Kaka. Makes no sense to sign him if hes ACM. Do not want. Want destroyer DM, prolific striker and epic RB.
Spot on Patters
Does signing Grenier prevent us from getting other players then?
Course not.
Never heard of him.
So there's no issue signing this bloke then.
Why you so keen on making people just accept this Tim?
I don't see how he's going to take us up a level, and knowing Wenger and his propensity to look at his midfield in terms of numbers available, signing Grenier may indeed mean that he doesn't sign another midfielder.
I'd prefer a more experienced, hardened and robust presence in midfield.
Grenier won't bring that.
Because its blindingly obvious that a lot of fans are set against him because he's French, plays in Ligue Un and up until recently nobody had heard of him. Nothing to do with how good he is and the qualities he might bring.
If we'd signed Michu last summer everyone would have moaned too.

I think his style is similar to Arteta, in that he's robust with good technique and control, with a decent shot and set piece every now and then.
This makes sense only if we flog Gervinho out.
I'm not going to write him off. If he joins us, he starts with a clean slate and we all hope he'll be very good. I think ACM is not a priority position in terms of buying squad players. Of course if there are top players better than Cazorla than we should sign him for any position. Our midfielders are always moving positions and Wenger seems them as quite versatile. Whether or not there are financial constraints and considering past evidence, I think it's perfectly reasonably to think that buying a £8m midfielder will reduce the likelihood of buying other players. Of course we will buy more than 1 player. But usually there are around 3 max and this would be 1 out of the 3.

cant blame people for that. many recent signings from ligue 1 have been less than spectacular, or taken years to come good like kos. loading the team with squad level players is all we've done for the past 2 years, and im going out on a limb based on my years watching football in saying that i highly doubt grenier will walk into the first 11 right away.
will his signing impact our ability to strengthen other areas of he team? no. is peoples ennui towards another budget signing from ligue 1 perfectly understandable? abso-fuckin-lutely
