Apparantly Ferguson has never lost a game where his team (or maybe just United) have been 2-0 up.

A bit like us.

Just joking Tony.

Gawd, Fergie retiring has spawned a whole raft of "his greatest matches"
ESPN are showing that FA semi final replay.
Bergkamp's penalty just been saved 🙁
I'm turning it off before they show Giggs' goal

He's only retiring for ffs.

He'll probably go and sit on some FA committee that decides how much time should be added on at games.

A wonderful send off for him today, going to be weird not seeing him around.

I hope one day we could give Wenger a send off like that, after the last few years some won't agree that (I'm sure Biggus will be here shortly to remind me why) but like Fergie has rebuilt the club and when he does leave will leave it in good shape for whomever takes over.

I had something else in mind Jazz.

Are you suggesting we bring in a massive water slide for when he retires?

Nice touch by Fergie by telling the fans to get behind in Moyes, some of them haven't got behind him in recent years so I wouldn't hold my breath on that! Going to be really weird not seeing him around next season, while he did annoy us a lot down the years he always did what he had to for his team. Our manager to be fair has come out with stuff to annoy others as well so I've never really taken it that personally. While we had a strong rivalry in the past it is important for rival fans to show respect, sadly these days not much of that around.

I can't be a hypocrite I couldn't stand him, he was always graceless to those teams that beat him- Just like Wenger, I'm glad to see the back of him.

Fuck him.

Was there ever?
Do United fans respect Wenger?
Relatively speaking there has been very little disrespect shown to Fergie in this thread.
Not much in the way of praise either sure, but relief that he's finally gone is to some degree a mark of respect.

What would me up about Fergie was the way he bullied the press/referees and other managers and, often, got what he wanted. I think he was pretty unique in that respect.

Mentioned in an interview that he made his decision to retire around Christmas when his wife lost her sister,

Maybe not, I don't think it matters if their fans respect Wenger. We are exactly the same as them if we are as petty as they are.

He did also help a lot of managers out if they came to him, did a lot for the LMA as well. He acted like a first class cunt at times but he did it for his club and I'd expect the same from our manager. To be fair our manager has been a bit of a cunt himself at times towards others. Like Fergie though every player who has left has never said a bad word and always said he made them a better man, like Fergie Wenger will be remembered as a great man for his club but someone who also looked out for his players.

Wenger's had a wonderful eight year lap of honour and send-off already, Jazz.

I think that's a bit much to be honest. I'd missed the start of the United game on Sunday so I hadn't seen this until it popped up on my news feed. He's done a lot and all but to expect the Swansea players and officials to give a guard of honour is pushing it. I'm sure United approached them with the suggestion, they were never going to refuse but the fact that United even made the request is wrong. Fine if it's just the United players.

meh whatever. Swansea players know what he's done for the game.

All the Swansea fans stayed at the end.

Don't care about Swansea they can do what they like, it was a thundering disgrace that we did it and it wasn't even the last game of the season.
It was like we were saying the campaign was all over before they even stepped onto the pitch.

Just goes to show what I've being saying all along- You can be a bully a graceless tyrant and a general all round prick it doesn't matter, so long as you're a winner you'll walk out a hero to unanimous applause.
