meh. i hate the guy, but wenger has sure done his best to make me respect old fungus the red nose. i probably hated him when we were rivals because he was like the complete opposite of wenger. now i grudgingly respect him for the same reason.
Ferguson moves upstairs...

Pretty much spot on for mine.
Its spot on about how the media treat him but I think the assumption he owed football or sport in general more is fanciful. As is the claim that 2 European Cups wasn't enough.

in this case it is. Not slap bang in the middle but still....

This pretty much sums it up for me.
If the stuff on Beckham is true then that is horrid.
I suppose if you want to question achievements attacking the character of the person who achieved is as good a place to start as any, denigrate the methods used in pursuit of those titles and the context in which they were won and you have a counterpoint to all those glowing articles in praise of Ferguson.
If the article hadn't been written by someone who clearly despises the man it would have had more value I think, as it is it reads like something out of the world of RAWK.
It's flippin' excellent that he's gone, so refreshing heading into next season without the usual suspects lined up in opposition.
Given the money and resources at his disposal I still think its a failure that he never created a truly special team.

Yes, ok, I reckon the European Cups remark is stretching, in fact given the state of England in Europe since the inception of the PL, and the teams he's been up against the two he's got are commendable.
The suggestion that, for someone so decorated, he had a remarkable ability to cheapen the game seems fair to me.

We just need Chelsea to screw up their managerial appointment for next season, and we'll be in with a genuine shot of winning the league!
We will if Jose comes here instead!

Woops!
They didn't lose...
S'why I said woops, as in 'that was close'.
Is that what that means?
How many times have they failed to win after being 3 goals up though? That's surely the first.
I'll always choose to remember him as that sad failure whose plebs shipped five goals against West Brom.
Seems fair.
