Pretty decent summary on Rooneysworegate by ESPN's John Brewin:

Speaking of Rooney, Aliadiere is looking sharp Burnsy, maybe a recall is on the cards........

Speaking of Rooney, Aliadiere? Oh right I promised you could pick my avatar for a week if Aliadiere played for us.
Well it was a gentleman's agreement.......
Not a public statement- just a matter of honour.
Oh I'm supremely unconcerned ...
Oh, lost your honour a long time ago?
You're right ... maybe your incessant cyber-bullying is a potential problem ... after consulting Alex McLeish about it I'm now considering raising a complaint with the powers that be.
Thats unfair! In fact you might say I'm the victim in all this....
No way! I'm Taylor, you're Eduardo - I'M the real victim in all this.
Anyway I'm sure this thread had a point at some stage.

So I see from your football manager stats.......
Torres has scored! What a relief for all concerned.
Mad
Just killing time at work reading a load of Premier league stats and I saw that Ryan 'he's not that kind of player' Shawcross currently has the joint worst Disciplinary record in the league this season with 7 yellows and 2 reds.
What. a. cunt.
I knew it was getting out of hand when they asked me to throw a Christmas pudding over a double-decker.

Martin Keown reckons Vincent Kompany is the best centrehalf in the League.
I agree with him, although I still think Kompany is prone to the odd concentration lapse/moment of madness/stupidity. Still, a shame we didn't get him, Wenger was a well known admirer for a long time, I always thought he'd end up here. Although, I have to say, I really don't think there's much in it between Kompany and Djourou. Kompany is a little more refined right now, and perhaps shows a little better decision making, and looks a little more experienced, but I think Djourou more than holds his own in a match-up between the two. Both have a physique and mix of abilities you dream about a centrehalf having.
If I wanted to win the Premier League I'd go for both Vidic and Terry over Kompany.
Terry has lost it over the last few years; Kompany is much better for my money. Don't rate Vidic as highly as others either, never seems amazing when I watch United despite his rep.
Young Guns tweeted last night that Imogen Thomas is Vela's girlfriend and that the footballer she had an affair with is...Ryan Giggs! He's deleted it now though as he doesn't want to get in trouble.
Personally, I dont think Terry has lost anything. He's been Chelsea's most consistent player this season and was the best centre back in the league last year too imo. I generally think he's massively under rated, probably because he's such a prick.
Physically he's incomparable to the player that captained Chelsea to the League in 2004/05. He's a yard slower, doesn't have anything like the same spring, and athletically he's just not the same. He says he hasn't been injury free for 5 years or more, and I think that, along with 50+ games a season, has taken it's toll on him.
I just think as phenomenal as their reading of the game is, Vidic and Terry are too easily exposed by speed and need a team set-up in a certain way to be successful, too dependent on the right partner, to be hailed as the untouchable players that they are. If someone built like Kompany or Djourou can learn to read the game anything like as well as Terry or Vidic can then we're talking about a player that would warrant the hype.
