It was pretty symbolic though. That team was just too good. They had to cheat to finally beat us.

... and we've never recovered. 10 years on, we just haven't been able to shake it off.

What is this current fad that people would be happy to see the likes of Suarez Rooney and Van Persie in our team?
Racists fat little fucks and cunts.
Aren't there enough less despicable strikers out there?

The best strikers are usually cunts. It comes with the territory.

Not really. Not on the level of those 3 anyway.

the van persie hate just makes us seem small time. it's like when spurs supporters start foaming at the mouth about sol campbell. big players move to other big clubs all the time, and often, they agitate for the transfer.

some of you just sound so bitter, like he stole the love of your life or something. the guy had the same opinions as us and changed his employer because of it, which is fair, since while arsenal losing has no real bearing on us, professional football is actually the guy's career. arsenal consented to his exit, and negotiated a transfer fee as compensation for the termination of his contract.

Spurs fans had every right to be pissed off about Sol Campbell. I enjoyed it because I was on the other side as an arsenal fan but I get why they were mad. Arsenal fans also have every right to be pissed off about RVP. If you don't get it you don't get it.

i share the exact feelings, except on matchdays. can't help it.

Left a truly bad taste when he departed, but watching him struggle with Shit!Moyes!United this season has partly cleansed my palate.

Why does something thats so common throughout football (including big clubs, Barca fans with Figo, United fans with Tevez and countless other examples) bother you so much? 😆

Football fans hate players who they feel have betrayed them, joining a rival is up there as one of the biggest. It's pretty simple. No point trying to rationalise it.

Also, you've got it the wrong way around, accepting your best player leaving to a rival without feeling any sense of anger is the small time thing to do.

Well, it's a practical way of thinking but football won't be so much fun if it isn't driven by emotions.

Being a soccerball fan is essentially very simple; you root for a shirt. Anyone who wears or represents the shirt of your choice is potentially worthy of adulation and worship, and anyone who isn't wearing the shirt of your choice is potentially subject to ridicule and hate.
The second worst thing a player can do is saying that the shirt you support is shit, and the absolute worst thing a player can do is switching shirts to one that is extremely abhorrent.
This shirt fixation also explains how a player while wearing another shirt can be an absolute thundercunt, but if he switches to the shirt of your choice can basically from one day to another become a hero.

dont get me wrong, it sucks he went to united and won the league, but it's just too irrational to bring myself to HATE him. fact is, if we'd made a signing like ozil a year earlier, then van persie would still be our striker.

i hate barca more than anyone else atm. they took henry, they took fabregas, their annoying tiki taka, the constant tapping up of our players, the more than a club bullshit, the pervasive cheating. all the guys i hated on united have left, and spurs are too shit to hate - it's more bemused pity.

if it were as simple as rooting for a shirt, then i would hate henry and fabregas, but that's far from the case.

I share your hate for Barcelona and will never, ever forgive them for Henry and Fabregas. I don't hate either of those two either btw.

Barcelona are a fucking abstract. Hating United is where it's at for me.

the problem with hating these teams is you end up feeling like a Spuds fan because Wenger cannot beat these teams.

Rooney agrees a 5 and a half year, 300k a week deal. Unreal. Think United are making mistake here. Smells of desperation.

If they fall out of the CL places they will struggle to find anyone as good to replace him.

That's crazy. Is he the best paid player in the world?
