I'd be happy enough if this level survived until the ACN, let alone beyond it.

I think we'd all take 3 goals every 2 games from Gervinho until the ACN. 🙂

Might have missed the explanation but is it known what that weird salute celebration is about? He's done it twice now and it's the same thing Van Persie did against Chelsea last season.

Fascist, he is...

He is playing at that level he did last first half of the season.

Hope he keeps it up. Fuck ACN

He's still shit, but luckily he's scoring while being shit.

If you were manager for that day, who would you have played instead of him?

Messi.

Who was the right back that Sabre loved? The one that was shitter than Hoyte.

Kerrea Gilbert!

That's who he would have played.

But he had THAT assist...

That cross and Henry's celebration must have been the highlight of his life.

😆 Yeah, Wenger's a stingy cunt for not buying him.

Gervais, Gervais, Gervais.

He makes me cry. We can and should be doing better than this type of player in our first team. Cost us 2 points today with his woeful finishing.

He didn't cost us two points though.

Gervinho blows hot and cold but you can tell after about 15 minutes which way he will go. Today he was clearly struggling and should have been subbed early. Couldn't believe it when Podolski got subbed instead.

Any half decent finisher in his position would have scored at least 2 goals today.

So I think he did cost us.

Yes, but very few "half decent finishers" would have gotten "in his position". Hence the conundrum that is Gervinho

Aguero failed in similar situations today. Think on that.

And then admit that ok, Aguero actually is a much better player. But still.

Don't even go there Burns, don't even.

You can't turn a player into a striker straight away with all plain sailing either. Even if it does work out it'll take a few months for it to really click for Gervinho up top.

It will never 'click' because he is simply a terrible finisher.

He will get a couple of goals of course but each time he is on the ball, you expect him to miss rather than score. In top games like this one, where you don't or won't get that many chances, you need someone who will put at least one of those clear chances away and not cock it up with a clumsy touch or wild lash. Can't afford that in key games
