Just watched Wenger's press conference. Song is off. Clearly.

I've only read the quotes - did Wenger seem resigned, fed-up, angry or up-beat, determined, relaxed?

Happy and upbeat. 🙂

I'm really worried Wenger wont sign a DM. I think this sale is going to completely derail our season.

I'm counting down the days until we get rid of Song and bring in a centre mid with a brain.

Wenger said something like "we have plenty of midfielders", I bet he won't sign more players (Mou wants Sahin to go to Liverpool)

Just read it, thought you meant for the friendly last week. No it was a league game. RVPs a dickhead.

Supposedly because Ramsey decided to shoot instead of passing it to him towards the end when we had a goal chance. Robin is the last player who should accuse others of being selfish.

I also get the impression it's 100% done. No way would Arsene be making declarations like that if it wasn't (speculation about his future on Ars.com a day before kick off, seriously).

Replace from within? we have much freedom to decide? he listed:
Diaby, Caz, Ox, Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta ("and frimp returns too"). Allow me to put Frimmerz on the side for a sec. There's Diaby as a physical presence, and all the rest will return to the shire after destroying the ring. And Diaby is not exactly reliable - both injury and playing that role.

It's all good to have the ball and score more, but we've learned (courtesy of fat Sam, Stoke and other great personalities) that we can't allow that teams will bully us of the field. And we have to have someone apart from Art that can play from deep naturally (I'll be happy with Sahin, in other words). There has to be a proper replacement.

Wenger did mention Sahin specifically as a player we are following, so I don't buy that its likely we won't replace Song. We've been linked to centre mids all summer.

I think it's Sahin or M'Vila. Just want Song gone now, it's obvious it's very close.

I don't know, I think it's Sahin or nobody for Wenger if Song goes.
If, as has been claimed, one of the reasons for getting rid of Song is his poor attitude the replacing him with M'vila who has an equally poor attitude is unlikely?

I know the attraction to M'vila is that he's primarily a DM, but I cannot see Wenger playing him as such and he showed his limitations last season at Rennes when he was asked to push forward.

Difficult to call though.

Wenger rates M'Vila. That much is clear. Maybe rumours of him being put off by his attitude are true but arsene does rate him as a footballer, no doubt.

We don't need to push M'Vila forward though, we've got Cazorla to playmake. M'Vila can sit.

Well, it's being reported as 'official' that 'Alex Song has been f*cked off by Arsenal' by @AFCAMDEN now. With a 'to be announced weekend / Monday' so presumably after the Sunderland match.

Hope we get more details on what the nature of Song's fall was.

I reckon that in the absence of any official details AFCCamden's word will be accepted as gospel.

Well I'm convinced he's off now.

I think it's a shame as we have enough trouble losing our useful players through contracts running down.

Lee Dixon also tweeted that he's gone. It's moving day; Arsene's not fucking around.

I meant in relation to the details as to why Song fell from grace.
Today's press conference made it blatantly obvious Song was off.

This seems obviously different, we want him out.

why do we even need a dm? we have to central midfielders. as long as they aren't complete idiots, two central midfielders should offer the back four sufficient protection.

This has been the most dramatic week ever so early in a transfer window. I can't say I am not excited about who we are definitely going to bring in. Sahin or whoever, Wenger will DEFINITELY replace Song.

New season, new coaches, new players, new captain. All new start and I can't say I am not excited. Good Riddance Song and RVP. Won't be missed.
