Sunderland wern't midly interested in attacking. Only time will tell how we fare.
Nuri Sahin
Need to move for Banega if we can't agree a deal for Sahin.
i wouldn't mind a versatile defensive player who could slot in at cb and dm, depending on who we're playing and who's fit. i do however not think we really need a dedicated defensive midfielder.
we have six "attacking" players. we can not afford to have one sitting dm and wingers like walcott and gervinho in the team if our intentions are to play quick passing football. there is a limit to how many passengers we can have in the starting line up.

+1
Was just thinking about alternatives this morning.
Arteta was holding yesterday and he did a good job as per. Won the ball back plenty and slotted in to the back line when needed. We don't need a dedicated defensive midfielder.

What about M'Vila? He's a very quick and accurate passer. You don't think havig that sitter might give the team a bit more stability and structure, helping us pass the ball quicker as a result. Think my ideal would look something like:
---------------M'Vila
---------Sahin----Wilshere
Chambo-------------------Cazorla
With Arteta able to play the holding role and as one of the two further forward, and Chambo and Cazorla playing central often as well.

don't know enough about m'vila to say one way or the other, but there is a lot of quality in that set up. i do think wilshere, sahin, cazorla and chambo should play together as often as possible. i don't see many teams being able to contain us.

Dream signing for me
Get Sahin and M'vila.
Maybe it was the euros, but we seem to be taking M'vila's quality for granted on this board. He's a monster player.
Don't recall you having that opinion previously, Cap. Good to hear though.
Mvila is defo a top player.
Certainly plays with far more intelligence than song. Baffled barca wanted him

I didn't give an opinion before.
But seriously, it's not like I'm an expert on the player (can pretty much count on one hand how many times I've seen him, excluding the euros) so I've been keeping those thoughts to myself. Just find it a bit strange that he has become so underrated here.

Glad we got that included.
Rumours of this Sahin deal being tied up soon and M'Vila coming as well, that sounds too good to be true!
Olly, Barca love versatile players and they could do with someone who can chip in midifield if needed but play CB as well as that is a weakness for them. They needed to replace Keita so Song will do that for them as well.

Ornstein has been on the money with all of our transfers this window.
We are back on track with this signing.
