Ok, what about the shittest players that have ever worn our shirt?

Tweety seems like a good shout but would probably compare favourably to a few I remember:
Terry Mancini {nice fella, complete shite}
Stepanovs {fuck sake}
Brian Hornsby {not very good at all}

I'm going to pass on Cygan, because, well, he looked so terrible because we were so good, but those others were awful in poor sides...Gus Caesar is also a legend for being rubbish but a bit unfair imo.

Vivas was pretty clueless.
Jeffers was pointless.
Baptista unfortunately was a disaster, had high hopes for him.

Yeah, but Vivas and Baptista had something about them that never quite did it with us.

Jeffers was a huge waste of time, agreed. "fox in the box" my arse...to think we had Henry and Bergkamp etc with him.

Inamoto? A bit shit. Glen Helder? One good cross and nothing else.

I didn't actually mind Nelson Vivas, until he let Hasselbaink drift in behind him at Elland Road.

Never rated David Hillier, or his ability at stealing luggage.

I saw Helder's debut against Nottingham Forest, the day George got sacked. He looked like a right player that night, but the goalscorer that night was pretty shit, wasn't he?

I give you Chris Kiwomya.

Jeffers is a bit like Christopher Wreh - pretty shit, but he did some good things too.

Inamoto gets my vote, I think.

I did think of Kiwomya, but did he even do anything to be recognised as shit?

Boy, we had some awful players at that point in time. Graham really did do his best to take all talent out of our midfield.

Chris Wreh will always be a cult hero!

Klaus, welcome!

Ahh yeah, Chris Kiwomya! He was pants. What was GG thinking?

James: Cheers! Great looking place, this.

What was he thinking though, seriously?

Unless it was the bungs, how could we go from players of class like Rocastle & Limpar, to the likes of Hillier, Selley....McGoldrick!

Eddie McGoldrick. Owns a pub about 5 mins up the road from me. How could we forget him.

Saw Inamoto in a pre-season game. He looked alright, as he did for every other club he turned out for. Only problem was he was a bit weak if I recall correctly.

Rami Shaaban? The only 'keeper to be even more average than Al...😃

Isaiah Rankin? I can only speak really of what I saw of him at Bradford but he was pretty poor. My Brentford mate loved him when he was with them though and I think he even managed to knock a Premiership (at the time) Southampton out of the FA Cup with a good strike.

Aliadiere?

Kiwomya and Helder- good calls.

Does Randall still play for us? I'd put him in as our current cackest player.

Mentioned this before on AM, but me and my scouse mates used to go on about who was going to be the greater Premiership striker, Aliadiere, or Neil Mellor.

Both used to bang them in for the reserves. There's been plenty worse than him though.

Yes, Randall is still on our books. Could say Gavin Hoyte for that matter...awful defender, don't know how he was ever rated by anyone...truly mystifying.

Dules got it spot on with Randall. Every time he pulls the shirt on, it's like they've invited a fan to play for the club as some sort of "Fans Day".

Shaaban wasn't that bad prior to breaking his leg, really. Kiwomya is a good shout though!

Yeah, he was my pet moan at the time...I think old Georgie boy started believing the hype about himself being a magician in the transfer market...Jimmy Carter, etc..

As did Lupoli, ended up doing nothing.

Neil Mellor...

Rankin used to bang them in for the reserves too, as did a young man called Paul Shaw. Bit before my time but I remember reading about him in my season preview guide along with the likes of Gavin McGowan, Vince Bartram, Scott Marshall, Chris Kiwomya, Luis Boa Morte and Jason Crowe who I believe was famous for playing one game for us where he got sent off almost as soon as he was subbed on. The youth section contained such luminaries as Ashley Cole, Stuart Taylor, Tommy Black (did alright in the lower leagues), Graham Barrett, Paolo Vernazza...and that's all I can remember for now.

Does anyone on here go back as far as Richie Powling and Jimmy Rimmer? Biggus?

Paul Shaw, bald at the age of about 23 weren't he?

I certainly don't Famous haha. I go back as far as Pal Lydersen, and that's about it. Other than that, it's only players that i've ever read about, such as Gus Caeser.

This reached 2 pages very quickly!

Yeah, well, we've had some real donkeys amongst the great players...some of them we loved even though they were a bit crap, like Mancini.

Squad quality has improved dramatically though...some of those players would make, say, Eboue look amazing.

I only go back early 90s and even then the memories a bit hazy.

Who remembers Stefan Malz? Some may Argue Luzhny was poor but I thought he did a pretty decent job for us, had that one fine performance in the FA cup final.

Kaba Diawara? Now he was a donkey

Alberto Mendez? Wenger bought him without watching him after one of his chums recommended him from some third division German side...feels a bit like Bischoff.

Liked Luzhny, he always did a job, if unspectacularly. Anyone remember the time he almost scored a wonder goal against Newcastle (SJ Park, I think)?

Yeak, Luzhny was ok, strong bloke as well...Diawara was rubbish. Malz? Yeah, remember the name but that's all...who was the defender that ended up at Fulham, I;m getting them mixed up I think.

Nah, that was Voltz, he was ok.

Moritz Volz. He was decent but nothing special.

Are you thinking of Christanval (or maybe even Senderos 😃 )? Trained with us but never actually signed.

Oh wait, you mean Volz! I thought he was alright. Playing for St. Pauli nowadays (apparently). I remember he had quite an upbeat (and surprisingly humorous for a footballer) blog.

...and a weird passion for all things David Hasselhoff. Although that goes for most Germans.

I quite liked Volz.

There was another mysterious defender that GG signed, who never played...he was collecting CB's at the time, we had loads....can't think of his name now.

heh, I read in a local Guildford paper about 5 years ago that he was managing some team about 15 divisions down. Maybe he's still doing that too? Probably isn't full time :p

Volz webpage has a pretty epic theme song: http://www.volzy.com/

He seems to have adopted some typical english traditions during his time in London too:

Siggi Jonsson? 😆

Nah, Siggi was ok...played midfield/fb anyway...

He was player-manager at Corby Town before they reached the Conference North. He's now a youth team manager at Northampton Town believe it or not.

Ahhh, couldn't quite remember his position.

Scott Marshall was pretty poor, but he came up through the ranks. Shall have to think harder.

Richard Wright was a really good 'keeper before he joined us though, just thin it was too much for him...that match against charlton killed him off. {we lost 2-4 at Highbury, my charlton mate still talks about it, ffs}
