As for Ramsey, think a lot of things that have been said about him on here make a lot of sense. He'll be a big player one day and isn't really that far but at the moment, just a couple of months after Fabregas left, he was given a role which he quite obviously can't handle and if there is one person responsible for that, it's Wenger for playing him too much and not Ramsey for not being there yet. Diaby. I'm not completely sure about his qualities anymore as it's been some time now since he actually played but if he had stayed fit, and I'm sure it was supposed to be the case, I'm fairly sure he would have played some games instead of Ramsey and Ramsey would never have the numbers he has now.

I'm not necessarily saying Diaby is better than Ramsey in many aspects but I'd think both of them would share a similar number of games played so far if Diaby was available during the season.

Wenger seems much more prone to play Diaby deep now. I think if Diaby was fit we'd have seen him play games in Son and Artetas positions more than Ramseys.

Yeah but at this stage I'd have Coquelin ahead of Diaby for those positions.

I think wenger would have had diaby starting as many games as possible, he rates him highly, as do I .

Fingers crossed him and jack get back ASAP as we need them.

Yes he had / has potential but he never consistently hit top form even when he was playing regularly.

I think he had enough talent to get a career going. He was silky on the ball, big, powerful, and the only midfielder since Vieira who regularly stormed into the box to get on the end of things. Our current lot completely lack that. They pass in triangles in the middle of the park and are disconnected from the front 3. His issues - positioning, stamina, etc - were all things that could be coached out of him. Contrast that with Theo who cannot even control a ball.

That's a buit harsh on Theo.
If there's one thing he has improved this season, it's his close control and first touch.

I often find myself expecting him to have a bad first touch and quickly lose the ball to the opposition, but he's rarely done that for quite a while now.

Diaby was very, very good for about half of the 09/10 season, but even then he struggled with simple positional play. I think Diaby missed the train there. If he'd stayed fit he could have turned into a terrific player. Might not have been with us in the end but he could have been a quality midfielder. Unfortunately that's just the nature of the game. At the moment Diaby is as far away from realising his potential as he's ever been. He's made two sub appearances this season and we're paying him 40K a week. We need to get rid of him as soon as possible.

Yes I know what your saying mate but I still feel he is a good squad option. Diaby don't do tippy tappy sideways passing.
Also he has been out because the club chose to operate on his ankle (which had been causing most of his injury problems)

So there is a very good chance that once he is back he can stay fit for longer.
He is still young so hopefully he does a robin and proves his doubters wrong 😉

And Ramsey doesn't just work hard - he works his fucking bollocks off.

95th minute, he's the one sprinting forward. The guy pre-injury was preferred to Wilshere (who went on loan to Bolton). His talent was obvious. He missed a very important year of development through no fault of his own and he has struggled to get back on that path.

But he is intelligent, he is humble and he is willing to work his bollocks off. I don't know whether he'll make it as a top player but he is the sort of player fans shouldn't mind their wages going to - because we know full well he's sweating for every penny of it.

I have a feeling that Wilshere's return will help Ramsey a lot.
