Ramsey is a completely different player to Cesc, I think thats alot of peoples problem TBH. He's more a British style midfielder, the work rate that Ramsey has Cesc didn't have, Ramsey at 21 is already better defensively than Cesc, the late runs he makes to the box now are something Cesc didn't add to his game until he was 23 or so. Obviously on the other side Ramsey doesn't have the vision Cesc had yet, nor is he as good in very tight spaces.

Ramsey will add alot of that over the next 2/3 years though. Same way Cesc added things to his game between 20 and when he pissed off at 24.

As for Ramsey, think a lot of things that have been said about him on here make a lot of sense. He'll be a big player one day and isn't really that far but at the moment, just a couple of months after Fabregas left, he was given a role which he quite obviously can't handle and if there is one person responsible for that, it's Wenger for playing him too much and not Ramsey for not being there yet. But then again, it's quite difficult when two players who should be ahead of him have been injured for too long!

Things might chance when Wilshere is back, hopefully for the good of both of them.

Anyway, Wilshere will come back and take Ramsey's spot on the team which will improve us quite a bit. He looks knackered 50% of the time so the rotation with Wilshere/Arteta should be good for him. Basically, he's not a 'dud'

The thing is, there has been players under Wenger that have only lacked experience and an extended run in the first team would take them from being average to being good quality squad players. They never got it :\

As Biggus pointed out earlier in the thread, Wilshere may well come back at some point but at what state is his footballing ability at the moment? Was he any good last season in the final third, I don't think so .

I think the season is screwed for us, I cant see Ramsey turning things around and cant see Wilshere and Diaby having enough of an impact in such a small space of time after long term injury, Gibbs will probably last a couple of games and Santos might as well be out for the season .

Next year looks bright, but that may well be in the Europa league .

Well I think that’s a pretty tacit way of excusing Dula’s comments. You seriously think that given a choice of referencing someone’s username or their nationality, it’s appropriate and justified to choose their nationality? If you were being honest and impartial about it surely you would agree that Dula’s comment about and “some stray Australian pube” was out of order? If not, perhaps you should apply for a PR job with Liverpool 😉

And for the record, I recognised that calling Woolwich an idiot was totally inappropriate and unnecessary, and I apologised publicly straight after (and yet the snide comments about my nationality continued after this). Shouldn’t I expect the same treatment? Or perhaps some of the elitism that proliferated AM has actually come across to OMT as well.

Dula put in a ' 😉 ' after his pube comment. Can't take him seriously after that - it's like the law of the internetz or something.

I’ve been around the block (and the interweb!) long enough to know when someone is having a ‘friendly dig’ and when they’re deliberately trying to be condescending. Inserting a smily can just as easily be a way of trying to disguise the fact.
