People were extremely excited by Ramsey that season, it's similar to how a lot of people feel about AOC right now.

When we sold Cesc a lot of my mates said we would struggle, I used to say "don't worry we have Ramsey".

I just can't believe how poor he has been this season.

i can honestly say i was never that excited by ramsey. he's always looked to be a potentialy good all-rounder in the lampard mould. i'm more excited to see what coquelin can do given the same air time as ramsey.

In hindsight throwing him straight into the first team didn't do him any favours.

That's exactly why people were excited by him as we didn't have any midfielders who looked like they could carry themselves in a 2 man midfield or mix it up and give the team some balance. Song was strictly a DM then and Fabregas was practically a forward.

Need to watch the game again but think Ramsey was one of our better player (although most of the team were terrible), had a couple of his usual brain farts but kept play moving well for the most part and a bit of variation in his passing.. Thought the CM role would suit him more for now and it does, as he is less pressured.. Just needs to keep things simple till the end of the season

This is what everyone was complaining about the whole season. Its so obvious. Nobody can deny how poor he is after November, keep losing possession. Dilly dally on the ball, slows down the attack, breaks down alot of moves.

I thought his game was changing as it developed - he was much better in the second half. He wasn't trying to do the old things, and, importantly for us (having to see the remainder of the season without Arteta organizing things, and really not wanting Song the one to do that), he looked more like someone who can organize, rather than increase the confusion. We'll need that - we don't have anyone else to do that (imagine Abou doing that). Not great, but should be enough for Stoke-Norwich-WBA. It'd be hopeless if Ox comes in to take control from the back, and Rosicky and Ramsey get in each other's way. We need OX and Gerv to stay on the flanks, Rosicky at AM - and Ramsey to be as Arteta as he can.

Ramsey was one of our better players today despite being dispossessed 4 times when he shouldn´t have been.

Same here. Ramsey never really excited me either. I always felt he was bit overhyped and his ceiling was never that high to begin with.

When ramsey first arrived, we had just lost flamini and replaced him with an 18 year old kid. Who knows maybe ramsey will be like flamini and show his real talent when he is around 23.

I'm not comparing quality, just the sense of anticipation around the player. We played West Ham in the FA cup that season, Ramsey and Wilshere both started and the former was one of the best players on the pitch while Wilshere struggled. Furthermore, Denilson and Diaby were still fucking up and the crowd were desperate to see more of Ramsey, just like they want to see more of AOC.

Prior to his injury, a lot of people saw a player who could contribute to Arsenal for years to come. A bad season on the back of a traumatic injury doesn't change that but if he's not bucked his ideas up this time next year, I don't think people will be as forgiving. I think he'll come through but needs to be taken out of the firing line.

Ramsey can score a hat-trick, but for people on here, he'd still have had a poor game.

Or he can continually lose possession, slow up our game significantly and waste good scoring opportunities and people will still say he's the next fabregas

Actually, they have. I've heard him talked about as a 'natural replacement' for Fabregas pretty often in the past. Always with a chorus of objections though to be fair.

We don't even play the same system as the Cesc team. So him being a replacement in the team is bollocks.

And on an individual level they are very different players. And anyone who thinks otheriwse must be taking the piss.
