Yeah, I agree, Ramsey looks about the same to me now as he did before got injured, but short on confidence and maybe in need of a rest.

Wilshere didn't step up until after his england debut. Ramsey was way above that level when he got his leg broken.

Wishere proved last year his is a elite player, up there with the best at his age. Ramsey, although a good talent. Really isn't in the same bracket.

@Capi To be clear, I wasn't comparing Ramsey and Wilshere before Ramsey had his leg broken. I was comparing him with Wilshere, before his latest injuries, with Ramsey now.

I's these sorts of comparisons that attract abuse for Aaron. Personally, I don't think he was as good as Jack - but - the club did decide to keep Ramsey and he was starting to establish himself as a regular just before his injury, whereas Jack was sent out on loan to Bolton. To say he didn't look an excellent talent would be wrong.

But as I keep saying - it'll be very interesting to see how much patience Jack will get after he comes back, especially if he has slowed up a touch and can't get back to the level he was.

I'll take your word for it that that is what you and Asa said at the time, but I won't take your judgement as proof of somwthing that is open to debate and not actually a fact 🙂

I do agree that Wilshere, prior to his own injury, was clearly undeniably the better player.

Wilshere had three stages last season. The period before his england debut was meh, to say the least. He stepped up a level after that and then kept progressing until he put in a world class performance against Barca. Still, he was a defensive liability but that seems to be okay at Arsenal, so I'll leave it.

Ramsey had iffy performances until he got a run of 4-5 games and he was the best young midfielder in the league leading up to his leg break. This season he has been good and declined to being terrible, but more importantly, nowhere near the level he was showing then.

As it stands, Wilshere has shown a higher peak but he gets a pass on the poorer games because he has elegance on the ball. A bit like Fabregas really who was 'better than roy keane' in his first season; was he fuck.

that said, he did much better in the second half: kept moving, spraying the passes and actually trying to move forward. And only got robbed once 😆

We don't all view players through the exact same prisms of bias that's for sure 🙂
Anyway I'm tired of discussing Ramsey.

For me Robin's drop in form is the single most worrying prospect for the remaining games.
If he doesn't score, then who does?
Now it looks as if our second highest scorer, your beloved Theo, will be out for a while too.

terrible game but he did manage to make a few beautiful passes, but he isnt scoring and we need to buy midfielders who can score, look at how much of a difference of having a player like mata or in form lampard makes to chelsea and you can understand why when robins off so is arsenal.

I was more gutted about Ramsey's injury than I have ever been about an injury. He was starting to look a top class player in the making.
