RvP's goal was not offside from what I've seen. On TV they freeze the image when the ball has long departed the assisting player.

If that goal had stood and Djourou hadn't gotten injured, it would have been a different game.

All in all can't say the result was unfair, but it was a competent performance.

Oh take a chill pill Invis, we've had false dawns before where we showed mental toughness and resilience and the players have done us proud.
Then another transfer window passes, our top players leave and are replaced by kids or shit and we cop another humiliation.

So lets wait and see before leaping to any conclusions shall we, its a marathon not a sprint..

I think a lot of passes to walcott by Djourou were mishit/carried the wrong weight and made it easy for Zabaleta to trouble him. Plus walcott needs to calm down a bit and vary his movement/game a bit. His finishing/shooting is just not good enough for him to try the same thing repeatedly.

Don't trust those videos in general but especially when it is focused on defenders.

I think it's all there, mate. Actually, the only thing that's missing is the Aguero chance that he blazed over the bar. Vermaelen didn't cover himself in glory there, but it was early in the game, and he started slowly in that left back role. He was very strong second half, when he moved inside - even without the video, I felt that at the time.

He really is a top quality footballer. Seems to be good at just about everything.

Fair enough, Capi. To each his own.

That line isn't right, though, YG. The rule is any part of your body that you can legally score with counts as being offside. Robin's upper half is a foot closer to the goal than his feet, so he's just off. Shame because it was a brilliant finish by him.

He was definitely offside even if it was just a few inches. The linesman probably just guessed but you can't really fault him. The defending team has to have the benefit of a doubt when it's such a close call. Robin should have watched the line better.

Disguise on the pass is amazing but VanPersie can clearly see the line and you would think Ramsey can see Walcott in what is alot of space for this type of game.

I thought Robin was cleary off as soon as the linesman raised his flag, hence I decided to move on and didn't watch the replay..
Damnit, he's on level with their last CB! Another one of those Dowd Moments......

Btw, was it Ramsey who played the ball to Robin?

It's not a dowd moment because the linesman called it. VanPersie was obviously offside to the naked eye.
