I don't like the stars on shirt argument because, as I pointed out, it brings Red Star and Forest into the argument. If, perhaps, there was some kind of limitation on the period in which your stars mattered, then I would accept that. I am not defending Wenger in any way. I think our record in this competition has been disappointing, but we can't just respect everyone who's won it even if their victories are from a bygone era when people still had jheri curls.
Neymar
Man City were league 1 tier a few years back, now they're buying some of the best players in the world and are probably gonna win the league.
Only tier that counts is the 'show me the money tier'.
If we don't win the cup, it would be great to see an underdog like APOEL or Napoli go all the way and win it.

Theres no limitation on history, once it's done it's done and recorded forever.
Thats why it's so important that you don't get beaten 8-2 it will never be forgotten- Or forgiven.
did you know that we beat them 8-2 in 1952 before they did the same to us? i didn't. history is just that. it can be forgotten or even known to begin with.
no one will give a shit about 8-2 if we end the season with a trophy or trophies and they end up with nothing and being bounced early out of every cup. they won't be get a trophy for beating us 8-2. although if we win something important and they don't, i'll have one made and send it to them.

That's because it never happened. Someone edited wikipedia and people just started to follow it and started making facebook pages about it. In 1952 we beat them 2-1 at home and lost 6-1 to them away. The other game in 1952 was a 0-0 draw.
that's hilarious, whoever started that gets a thumbs up. i didn't even care to look it up when i read it, just took it at face value because it meant nothing to me even if it was true.
and i'm taking your word on that 6-1 scoreline. 3 horrible beatings that i know of now, we have a habit of getting tonked at their place. damn shame.
Yeah, first I heard of it was the your post mate. Looked it up and it seemed like there were a lot of pages about it but only on facebook and in the one wiki page about Arsenal vs united rivalry. And it only had the score and the year. No day, no scorers, no nothing. Searched some more and the results above were the only ones I found which seemed legit and had dates and scorers.

We only get tonked because Wenger sends kids and rejects there especially in cup games, it never happened in the old days.
That man shows an utter disrespect for their power and a naive belief in our squad players, thats why we always get raped there.
loyan said we got tonked there before wenger. did he travel back in time to embarrass us?

I wouldn't put it past him, the nutty professor is a menace.
I have a feeling Neymar is going to go the Pato route. Someone is going to sign him for big money, he's going to put in great performances but people are going to expect a thousand times more from him. He's going to be a great player but the overrating is going to make him look worse than he actually is. Seriously he's being touted as the next greatest thing since life and it's pretty obvious what's going to happen.
I've no idea what's going to happen with Neymar, so the career trajectory that you've mapped out for him isn't pretty obvious to me at all naz.
I've seen him play 90 or so minutes of live football and all I deduced from that is that he was undoubtedly talented with a major big attitude.
Not sure if it's the kind of attitude that will stand in his way or make him truly great though.
He's still young enough to wise up, his choice of next club will be key.
I have a feeling Neymar is going to be one of those that largely fulfills his enormous billing, at least for a decent chunk of his career. He will be one of the best players in the world for a while.
How his career pans out depends on which club he joins
Very true. If he joins Madrid, Barca, City or Chelsea he'll end up a 'flop' imo as he won't get the required playing time. He needs to go somewhere where they can guarantee him games and time to develop.
If Sturridge can play at Chelsea or Di Maria can be a regular starter at Madrid, then Neymar should be fine at those clubs.
Neymar will have to cut the diving a bit in the EPL though or he will be murdered out there. I've never seen a bigger cheat in my life.

He has a lot to learn, my friend. Just watch last spring's shocking Classico series.
