If he's not even jumping, then his head is useless.
Was he given an assist for the Yossi goal? He was trying to dive and the ball made its way to the Israeli.
Lukas Podolski
Gourcuff would flop so badly here.
Wouldn´t want Gourcuff here. Wouldn´t suit us at all IMO.
As for Podolski - a guy who has scored over 40 goals and has close to 100 caps for Germany wouldn´t come here thinking he would be a back up player. The guy is entering his prime, currently has a really impressive season for his club, and is a nailed on starter for perhaps the best team in Europe.
He´d get enough games here. Not worried at all about that.
He could be a very good wide player for us.
For sure, and he would also be a great option as a 2nd striker instead of a midfielder if we are chasing a game.
The possibilities are endless. I am confident that Wenger will do the right thing and sign him.
And these are the players e should be aiming for. It's nice to think about Goetze, and e should make a bid, but the chances of us sealing a deal over Real, Barca and Citeh are slim, if those 3 clubs become involved. Even United could bet the farm on him given their dire midfield situation. We should still enter the race, but shouldn't hold our breath.
It doesn't mean we are a small club (as the homie Biggus would argue). It's just an economic reality.
According to Miles, this deal is 'almost done'
So we are not getting him then?
He's improved alot since his big money move to Bayern. 14 goals in 15 apps is an excellent return so far this season. For what he brings to the table, the touted 10-15m price tag seems more than fair in the current market.
Think Podolski will move for closer to 20m myself, but then again transfers from the Bundesliga are generally not that high. Think he´d be an excellent wide forward or 2nd striker here.
20M would be far too much imo.
12M would be a much fairer price for him tbh. He's not that good.
Of course it would be better to pay 12m than 20m. 12m sounds like a Wenger valuation though and has very little to do with what other clubs would actually be prepared to pay for him.

I like Myles, but this means we're fucked.
You LIKE Myles?! Oh dear.
Not just that. He's not worth 20M under any circumstances tbh.
The max any club should pay for him would be 15M, 12M is his value imo. If any club were to pay 20M for him it would be loltastic.
20m euro is only around 16.5m pounds at the moment.
Cill, do you understand the basics of what dictates the price on things? There is no such thing as "should". If there is a single club ready to pay 20m - then that´s his worth. When Podolski leaves Köln I´m sure there will be clubs willing to pay that amount. Why?
He is a regular for arguably the best national team in the world.
He is at 26 just entering his prime.
He has an impressive goal to game ratio for his country - mainly playing as a wingforward. (40+ goals in roughly 100 games)
He is having a great season in the Bundesliga - playing as a striker. (14 goals and 4 assists in 15 games)
The versatility that he produces the goods both from the wing and from playing centrally will be extra appealing to many clubs, not least us.
plus he isn't cup tied in europe.
True that.
20m Euro is a fair price for Podolslki. And even more palatable given our Champs League draw. That 3 week period of the AC Milan game will be are undoing if we don't strengthen. We also have to beat Spurs in that period or they could prove that the power has truly shifted in North London. Podolslki, please!
