To add to the list of media reports, it was mentioned on n-tv (German news channel) this morning. They had the editor of Kicker offer his opinion on the move, and he was very positive describing it a "clever decision" by Podolski. There was also a funny clip of Wenger speaking German, but that's beside the point...
Erm, my 2 cents on the the whole thing...well, why not? How refreshing would it be to have a signing wrapped up before the next transfer window even opens? Strategically it makes sense when you consider the Euros as well. As far as Podolski himself, he's not the perfect player but has many attributes we'd find useful. For one thing he can finish. Has an absolute cannon for a left foot, and is not afraid to use it. The reason Germany are so much more exciting to watch (as well as more efficient in attack) than Spain is because they have players like him in the forward positions. He'd give us balance and variety. He's more mature than when he was at Bayern, but maybe more importantly has got the physique and power to adapt to the PL quickly.
Should play against France tonight. Will keep an eye on him if I can.
