England boss Fabio Capello has called up uncapped Bolton striker Kevin Davies for his Euro 2012 squad to face Montenegro at Wembley on 12 October.

Davies, 33, is joined by Wayne Rooney, who has recovered from his ankle injury, with Darren Bent and Peter Crouch the other forwards.

Also included by Capello are John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Aaron Lennon and goalkeeper Rob Green.

Arsenal's Jack Wilshere has been named in both the under-21 and senior squads.

First call up isn't it? At 33 and all 😆

I'm no fan of the guy but it is absurd that Emile Heskey can have so many caps while this guy has none.

I wonder would Gibbs have been selected had he been fit. Warnock over him would appear to be a rather short-sighted selection.

This story has given me hope...i'm not giving up on my footballing career just yet.

Pretty desperate move, though I guess qualifiers are about winning now.

I still remember when Kevin Davies was heavily linked with us way back in 97-98. And look what he turned into - a better option than Franny Jeffers probably, but that's about all you can say 😃

Don't have any faith in Capello delivering a solid England side.

Honestly, what the fuck is the point of calling this guy up?

Not as if we don't already know everything about him, and hardly going to give England much for the next couple of years, and there are other options against shite sides like that.

Blimey, I'm a senior member already...my rise in this forum is meteoric, took me years in the other one.

I'd much rather seen that other thug Carroll called up.
