Only watched the second half but Spain had 4 clear chances to England's one. Was just one of those games.

Parker got man of match for throwing his body in front of two basic passes in the space of five minutes before being subbed. Fucking hell. 😆

Spain didn't have 4 clear chances. Just one and cesc scuffed it. The rest were speculative.

You can pass it about all you like, but if you can't penetrate the opposition nor stop someone winning a heading at the back post when your defending then you're not the bet in the world.

Spain got lucky villa and Torres were once good and the rest of the world dropped off. I'd fancy Germany us and Portugal to take Spain

😆 Villa hitting the post is not a real chance then is it? Not to mention England scored from the ONLY chance they managed to "create" for the whole game. England played like Blackburn for crying out loud!
Spain, at best, played at 80 per cent yesterday Dules. You could see it in their quite lazy movement in the final third for long stretches of the game. In the last 20 minutes when they actually went for it, having taken off some of their best players mind, England struggled big time to hold on.

No we didn't. And that was an unbelievably depleted England team whereas as Spain tried everyone they had.

That was not football from England - it was handball. Games usually get boring when only one team is interested in playing.

Couldn't get better in my book. Stick it to the greaseball spaniards and bore a load of Europeans whilst doing so

Everyones become too obsessed with the sort of football Spain play. Its boring, more boring than the football England play thats for sure. I remember when the Italians were derided for playing the ball around their midfield for 3/4s of the game and not trying to score, now the Spanish are the most beautiful team ever for it. They're like Barca minus the magic of Messi. A dull, functioning, joyless machine.

"A dull, functioning, joyless machine" is the perfect description qs.
They bore me senseless.
It really annoys me the way people who don't even really watch them bang on about them being beautiful to watch and how they play football as it should be played, and then dismiss as philistines anyone who sees it differently.

I'd much prefer to watch Germany these days than Spain.

Indeed.

Switzerland took Spain at the world cup and we'll see more results like that over the next few years. Brazil, as poor as they are for them, would take em too.

The problem for Spain is that teams set up to NOT play against them. You can see exactly what this Spanish team is capable of when they are a goal up and the opposition is forced to at least TRY to go forward.

Shameful display by England at Wembley IMO, and sections of the crowd rightly booed them for the negative shit they served up. Talk about disrespect for the paying consumer...

I too much prefer watching Germany btw, but it is not just down to the Spaniards that games where they are involved in have a tendency to be boring.

They won a game nobody expected them to win Rex, I think most of the paying "customers" would have been delighted with that 🙂
They were without their star player Shrek too.

There were lots of boos until they scored, which means that a lot of people were not happy with their approach.

It is easy blaming Spain for what their games look like, but the fact of the matter is that almost every team out there try to carry out what England succeded with yesterday: Play for a 0-0, and possibly, possibly nick a fluke goal somewhere.

The only teams that play Spain differently are those who feel they are on a similar level, and thus actually go into the game looking to win. Those games are generally extremely watchable.

The English were absolutely fine with the win. There's no 'right' way to play football as long as it's within the rules of the game; to suggest otherwise is sheer arrogance.

What are you talking about? I said that sections of the crowd at Wembley booed the England team yesterday. Since there was a large majority of England fans there it is fair to assume England fans were not happy with the team. Are you saying I am wrong?

I also said that it has a lot to do with how opponents approach games versus Spain that they often end up being quite boring to watch. You disagree with that? Are you saying that England had little to do with the fact that yesterday´s game was about as exciting as watching paint dry?

Truthfully - it could have been Arsenal v Blackburn/Stoke. Not many people around here generally appreciate the kind of football those teams represent. Has nothing to do with "deserving" to win or "right" way of playing. Just boring as fuck IMO.

Where's the shame in beating the second best nation in th world?

Starting to like Bert van Maarwijk! First suspending and pretty much saying he is an idiot about the thug Nigel de Jong when he broke Ben Arfa´s leg, and now letting RVP go back to London.

Everyone I know is happy bout the match. Think you're referring to the booing direct towards bargain boy Torres
