I'd go for Bastos. Let him play an attacking left back role then move him forward to hid favoured position when Gibbs or santos are back

Anelka has gone to Shanghai Shenhua for crazy money.
Meanwhile Drogba has supposedly been offered 3 years on 200k to go and play for a Dalian side. Yikes.
Only a matter of time before football became big in China too...correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time I've heard of established, international players leaving Europe to pursue careers in Asia?
I may be wrong, but dint Rivaldo and Batistuta play in Qatar for sometime?

Just Batistuta. Qatar is located in the Middle East though.
Lucas Biglia's agent says Arsenal and Fiorentina are most interested clubs in him. Apparently Fio looking at him to replace Juve bound Montolivo. Good player me thinks. But Midfielder??
Hmmm he wold allow us to rest some and free up song as an emergency centreback
CM & CB; our two most well stocked options at the moment. Yeah, we're definitely in for Biggus.

Lineker played in Japan.
Good one
"We lose players like Chamakh and Gervinho to the Africa Cup of Nations, so hopefully touch wood we do not get any injuries to our strikers, but if an opportunity turns up in that department then we will buy.
"The situation, I must say, is a bit special. Economically the whole environment has changed and people suffer more. The clubs wil suffer more financially and it's much more difficult
"Maybe we will have some opportunities because we are in a good financial situation."
:hmm:
Is Arsene in predatory mood?
Just a little twist on his usual speil, almost seems to be bragging that we're better off than most in these hard times

Lineker played in Japan.
Leonardo played in Japan straight after winning the world cup with Brazil.
Come think of it, Dunga played in Japan too. He was getting old at that stage but he was still a regular for Brazil.
Magath apparently announces interest in Rosicky. Not sure that is what the quote actually implies but...
Snap his hand off!!!

Nah aging stars have being going to the US Japan and the middle east for one last big paycheck for years.
I think we are after a attacker and a MF. Soldado/Giroud/damiao/Roux/podolski for the attacking position and Granero/Biglia/ for the AM/CM position. I don't think Gorze/hazard are realistic targets. Our wage structure is too uncompetitive to buy top talent. If not them, we are gonna punt on some obscure/relatively cheap talent from abroad.
Podolski would want far higher wages than Gotze.
Aye, read a story the other day from a German journo that said Podolski was asking for huge money.

I didnt mean wages with regards to Hazard or Gotze. with them its a case of too much initial. I meant it in regards to other top talent like say mata etc. TBH i am not very hopeful on Podolski as well cause there is no way he is coming at 100k a week (his reported earnings/demand). And i don't see him taking a wage cut just to come and play for us.
By the same logic, i think we might be in interested in Reus. Less wages, Investment for a futture sell, plus young enough to be moulded/controlled.
