I like Remy but he's another work in progress project while we need someone to step up within the next couple of months.

I've always liked Podolski whenever he plays for the German NT but his indifferent club form is a worry, particularly as he'll have to adapt to a new league as well.

Reading the full quote there on another site and he seems to be playing games with Lille looking for money. He's a good player I'd take him on talent but the statements he's putting out are cunty and I'm fed up of players like that so I'm not that bothered with him.

Alex and Anelka have had transfer requests accepted, and aren't training with the Chelsea first team anymore.

Stay clear, Arsene...

Don't fancy Le Sulk Pep?
Whats he worth these days?

Given the dosh he's on, I reckon he'll go for close to nothing. Can't see us being interested in either.

Anelka's probably too old to lead the line for us nowadays.

He's too much of a cunt too. Never want to see him in an Arsenal shirt again.

Anelka would have been a great signing when he was at Bolton but i would pass now.

Apparently it is mostly a formality until Anelka and Etoo are team mates in Russia.

Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen bagged a brace yesterday in a performance which has prompted the Gunners to begin preparations for a January move.

Wouldn't it be funny, in an infuriating way, that after a few seasons of crying out for Arsene to sign a defender in January he goes off and signs one this January when we're all desperate for some added strike power.

I think Vertonghen would make one hell of a left back. You have to ask why Wenger would be interested in him though. Gibbs on his way out?

I'd love to sign him.

Him and an attacker and we'll be set

Perhaps Wenger's losing patience with Gibbs, but then again he'd have shipped Diaby out long ago, so I call bullshit on that rumour.

Vertonghen can play quite a few positions but don't think he would be happy with a utility man role. He can probably get a starting role at alot of good clubs in his favoured position.

Thing is though Capi, that most players are confident in their own ability and think they will be starters for most teams.

Their agent gets them an idea of their role when he is negotiating. If he is looking at us and, let's say, Liverpool he'll fancy his chances there with not much to seperate the calibre of the two at the moment.

You still get players like Benzema and Sahin at Real Madrid, Sanchez at Barcelona and so on. They are really good players and think they deserve to be starters regardless of who is already there. Look no further than Gervinho. When he signed it was far from decided that Nasri would go. Had Nasri stayed Gervinho would have been a bit part player for us now. Probably. Or we wouldn´t have signed Arteta.

There's a big difference between Madrid/Barca and Arsenal though.
