20 million from Chamakh and Arshavin?? Doubt it, more like 10-12 million. I doubt Chamakh is going anywhere in Jan. Arshavin could go and probably should go. We should go for Reus no matter if anyone leaves or not.

Everton to sign Rosicky on loan?
Bit of an odd rumour that, can't see it happening.

re: chamakh: 10m for a useless player that we got on a free - we should sign that up now before anything happens. could be one of the best bits of business we'll ever do.
Who do we get though? The more I think about it, all of Lille, Dortmund and Gladbach would be mental to sell Hazard, Goetze and Reus respectively when each has a very good chance of winning the domestic league title. We need to look elsewhere, I suspect.
This Podolski rumor pleases Caligula greatly.
Drogba's agent:
'He will go where he is offered the most money. It could be the United States, Qatar, Russia or somewhere in Asia.
'He'll go wherever he feels good from a financial point of view. Los Angeles Galaxy are a possibility.
I note we're not on that list
I suppose that means he's not coming here.

£20m for Podolski seems absolutely ridiculous. But I do like Podolski and think he would do well here; should have got him in the summer.
I'd rather throw 10 Mill of that in the next bin, before paying such a ridiculous fee for Podolski.
It was £10-£12m in the summer (which seems about right considering the player and bundesliga transfer fees) and now we're supposed to believe that it is £20m.
Anyone half way decent will cost that much though?
Unless I suppose we're looking at Arteta style signings - 29ish, excellent player who's had long spells injured and never fully realised his potential.
I can't think of any offhand.
I'm sure Wenger can get him for around 14-15 Mill which is just acceptable.
Anything above that is daylight robbery.

Similar arguments were given for how much Vidal would eventually move for but basically players from Germany never go for the prices we would consider in England. I don't have a particular reason for that but it seems to always be the case (making an exception for Bayern Munich who are an outlier).
I don't follow the German transfer market but if that's the case then there's value to be had there it seems.
I'm surprised Wenger has not explored this avenue more.
I wonder if a bid from an English club would automatically increase the asking price, perception being perhaps that English clubs will pay more.
Raphael Honnigstein says he's available and we could probably get him for £10-12 million. He's only got 18 months left on his deal and it doesn't look as though he's going to sign a new one at the moment.
10-12 sounds realistic.
I'd like Podolski or Loic Remy to go along with Gotze, Dzagoev or Banega
Podolski seems to have legs. He should be good value to 10-12 mill. Soldado is a no go. Will be too expensive for a Jan signing, unless Wengers grows balls and punts 20-25 mill for him or our season goes bad to worse between now and mid January.
I still think we are a CB short, we really should have got one of Smalling or Jones.
Gotze would be a dream!
Hope the podolski deal goes through. he's great value for money.
Podolski is the type of player we could do with. Squad depth for two positions. Slightly worried that he'll end up looking like he did at Bayern towards the end though. He seems to be a player who needs to play regularly to be able to perform at club level. We have the same problem with Chamakh currently.

I really like Remy too. Think he's been largely misused by Marseille. He has a few Henry-like qualities. Wenger would make him a great player given some time. The ability is there.
