malouda was on fire yes, but kalou was in great form too

Kalou was killing it off the bench for a while and saving alot of points for Chelsea. There's definitely something to him.

Kalou is effective off the bench and doesn't seem to suffer or moan about not making the starting XI - he has the right mentality for being a useful productive squad player.

It's a funny thing to say. I'm pretty sure we're already paying Gibbs and Diaby for being injured six or seven months out of any given year. There's a very easy way to fix the problem and actually reduce the wage bill in the process.

Abidal would be our best LB by a country mile if he were to sign. Probably our 3rd best CB as well. Sign him up and flog Gibbs I say!

I don't think Abidal is what we need as a leftback at all. He'd have to play centrally.

We have Santos, Gibbs, Verms and Miquel. We need to find a solution with that lot. Cant keep adding left backs.

We'd sign Abidal and he'd probably pull a hamstring on his début. It's just an unfortunate situation, and I don't think signing anyone - unless they were a 25 year old Ashley Cole - would be worthwhile. We have quality there, they're just not available.

Get Abidal if possible and flog Gibbs off on loan for the rest of the season, and possibly the whole of next season. Problem solved. Let Gibbs prove, one way or another, whether he can stay healthy somewhere else. He is a full England international and I imagine there would be plenty of clubs wanting to take him on loan.

We should buy. What's the point in risking writing off this season for the sake of a few million? We need to place more focus on short term needs

Unless they want to use him as some kind of extreme challenge for their medical team who in their right mind would take Gibbs on loan starting this January?
