Barcelona have won 3 of the last 6 Champions leagues and a multitude of other trophies, including league titles and cups and their players make up the spine of the World and European Champions. They have been (maybe still are) one of the greatest sides in European football history. No drooling, no lies, no nonsense. You dont have to like them and it's perfectly fine to enjoy seeing them lose, but I cant understand why some people have such a hard time accepting how brilliant they are/have been.

Barcelona are an irrelevance, I don't think of them as a rival. Just a club that have brought through an incredible generation of players and let that get to their head. Arrogant cunts they might be but Madrid were the same six years ago. They'll be knocked off their perch eventually and if they don't recover, they'll be just another club again.

I know Biggus won't like this but they could have hammered Chelsea in either leg. It's not as if they didn't create chances, they created plenty. Nothing like the toothless displays we used to put in against them.

Glad Barca are gone, don't think Chelsea will win the whole thing. Too many players out and won't handle a conventional side like Madrid or Bayern the way they did the cunts this morning.

The only reason I don't mind Barcelona winning it is, like it or not, they are not our rivals. Ultimately we've got nothing to do with them, particularly since Fabregas (haha) fucked off. Of course, I'd much rather Bayern won the trophy out of them all but largely because we've not had any bad experiences not because I like them or I think they deserve it.

Klaus, it's not like they were the only thing between us and trophies. In Europe, we have been abject. In England, other than 2005, Manchester United have always finished ahead of since Chelsea started winning.

Barcelona need a proper striker to give their play any purpose, I remember last season we scored two against them when Guardiola took Villa off. I'm surprised Pedro doesn't get more games, he's a goalscorer at least.

I dont care what anyone on this board says, Barcelona winning the Champions League is infinitely more palatable than Chelsea winning it. I think the vast majority of our fan base would agree with that.

Sorry if anyone feels offended by this but I truly believe we'd not have made it to the final had we had a man sent off in the 1st half in the manner Chelsea did it tonight. Wenger would have come up with the most suicidal tactics imaginable. Remember our tactics after going down to 10 men last season? We tried to squeeze play in midfield by pushing up our defensive line a bit further away from goal. Playing a highline with a man down, against a team of midgets :facepalm:

Those writing off Chelsea haven't learned their lesson, those bastards never run out of luck!

Agree here. I would like bayern to dump out real and do chelsea in the final, but I don't trust them to get the job done against chelsea. Its hala madrid for me (chokes on own bile).

I don't think we've got the players to do what Chelsea did while they could never dream of holding a higher line and squeezing play in midfield. I don't mean this in a good or bad way, it's just how it is and defending for their lives was an aspect of the game that suits Chelsea.

I don't think they can claim a magnificent tactical victory either, they rode their luck massively while working incredibly hard. Overall they deserved go through though.

This is the spin and bollocks I was talking about.
Real Madrid have won the European cup/Champions league 9 times, AC Milan 7 times, Liverpool 5 times, and Barcelona along with Bayern Munich and Ajax 4 times.
And they won't be winning it this year.

You're right we can't defend that way was we're not set up in terms of system or players to play that way, us and anyone else who tries to play a high line against Barcelona and play them at their game gets ass raped, so why do it?

The harder you work the luckier you get, funny that.
They deserved to go through because they won one game and drew the other..

I'm glad Barcelona are out, fuck them. Personally hoping Madrid win and do the double over them, don't know why but I don't fancy Bayern becoming champions. But let's face it, the only reason Chelsea will have such praise heaped upon them is because they've gone through against such a strong outfit.

I think Big is just bitter. Even he knows that this Barca team is formidable. My mates and I were all gripping the table whenever Barca had the ball because you knew they would hold on to it until they had at least penetrated the penalty box. I've never seen a team that consistently pins strong opponents back for entire matches. Unfortunately, they have three weaknesses
1) lack of aerial threat. means you can just clog passing lanes and hope. you will inevitably concede good shots and even penalties and FKs. then it's up to God. but the lack of heading makes them more predictable
2) substandard defending. they have great pressing defense, but are susceptible to the counter. Mourinho has beaten them well last week with Real and 3 years ago with Inter with this tactic. Of course, it's not reliable though because you depend on not conceding when they do have the ball
3) lack of long range shooting. Mascherano let a scorcher fly last night, but Barca too often look like Hleb's Arsenal, lacking variation in shot attempts

The best part is where everyone says that Barca can be stopped with rigid defending and men behind the ball. They scored two last night, missed a penalty, hit the post, Cech was Chelsea's man of the match...
