Theres noway Gotze will be sold this late into the window. Dortmund are better off keeping him for one more season and advertising him in the CL. They'll probably get a much bigger fee for him that way.

I think we're better off going for Kagawa who is just as good if not better imo and we'd dominate the Asian market with him, Park and Ryo.

Maybe if we just offer them £24m

You know, if we signed a proper centre-mid and played Wilshere on the left, it would basically have the same effect as signing Goetze.

You rate Wilshere that highly as an attacking midfielder?

Goetze is faster and a bit more dynamic but the effect would essentially be the same.

Of course, we don't have Kagawa but that's a different problem.

getting klopp would be huge if he could help bring either kagawa or goetze. we'd sell so many kits in japan if we had kagawa and miyaichi. plus wenger is already popular there.

We are in for an absolute treat if we sign this guy. He could make us potentially better than what we were.

The last time he played for Germany he totally destroyed Brazil

35M Euros. Worth it. Given our current circumstances.
Keep Rosicky and Bendtner if we can afford their wages. We will need the depth

For me if Wenger signs this guy and Santos all is forgiven as far as the transfer window's concerned, even if the other problems affecting the club - like morale, the squad as a whole, and our continued issues actually playing football effectively, are not.

lol Santos is not even a step up from Clichy and Gotze wouldnt take this team to another level. He is slightly overrated imo. Gotze plays mostly on the wing and a central position would be quite new to him at the top level.

Would much prefer Montolivo or his team mate Kagawa.

If it's €35m they want, I say give it to them. Just show some ambition for once.

Who said anything about taking the team to another level?

Clichy left because he wanted to go - that to me is reason enough for a guy who has given the club good service and is ready to move on. In the end the same goes for Fabregas and Nasri.

Hard ask to be losing players of that calibre at the same time as going to 'another level' - I would be satisfied with replacing our outgoing players with high quality signings who still haven't hit their ceiling.

Gotze seems ideal to me - he's still young and improving, may not have the most ridiculous wage demands, and is an exceptional creator of chances. That's what we need.

Gotze: young, talented, improving, and earning on a Bundesliga pay scale. He can come here for at least 2 or 3 years before we either sort out our wage scale or we profit from selling him. It's a no-brainer

Me either. Such super quality seems super unlikely with the minimal time left remaining and the likely fee demanded.

Whole story is a fabrication imo.

i have no idea what we have to offer him tbh. a bit more money, that's about it. he's already got playing time and cl footy at dortmund

not happening

If we had an offer accepted i'm 90% sure he'd come. Not many players stick around when their clubs are essentially asking them to leave. Just dont believe we've made a bid.

The best-polished Barcelona shop window in Europe.

Aye, I'd love it but there's no way we're getting him.
