He's a quality player. The fee is reflective of the uncertainty surrounding his national service, which is also why lille were hesitant in tying the deal up.
Park Chu Young
Lille’s president Michel Seydoux said, “Park went to England, apparently to Arsenal. We are stunned by this unacceptable behaviour.”
LOL. You guys can't be serious. Who is this fucker?
He is definitely a good buy for a 3rd choice striker. Is a much better striker of the ball than Chamakh for instance and isn't all that weak in the air. Works very very hard up front and is a superb free kick taker.
Anything else you guys wants to know? I for one is happy with him, because Wenger won't get anyone better.
You seen him a lot Clrnc? Is he the type that has the potential to score a few goals?
A striker in France with a record of just better than 1 goal per 4 games is worrying. Surely this can´t be?
I'm just gonna repeat this here before the panic brigade breaks out. We were never gonna get Hazard anyway. If we sign Park, M'Vila and Cahill/Jagielka I'll be more than thrilled.
Could any of you guys really see us buying a striker yesterday? It's pretty nice to see the club move swiftly.
fucking underwhelming if this is the striker we're signing. rutting around in the french bargain bin like he's not sitting on 50m cash.

The BBC (and sources in France are sure it's happening). Regarding his quality, let's look at what the people who have actually watched him say.
No, it is NOT nice at all to see the club move swiftly for a player who will, at most, make up the numbers. We are LOADED and should aim at players much better than this.
Are you joking? A 26 year old forward with that ratio of scoring in France is NEVER going to be of much help to us.

Yeah, only took us 90 odd days
He'd be a backup striker so not expecting super quality, willing to reserve judgement on him.

Yep. Monaco is a struggling team and he is doing okay there, just had his best season in terms of goalscoring ratio last season. For e.g. his goalscoring record isn't any worse than Chamakh but Chamakh was playing in a much better team easier to score with better service. Park had to do everything alone up front by himself in many matches last season. His record for S.Korea is a tad better.
I rate him to be potentially better than Chamakh but there is a little doubt with his readiness to adapt as usual with any asian player to the premierleague. High chance he will do well though seeing 80% of the Asian imports doing well here.
No point whinging about a player before we've even seen him play. And its seems most people here haven't really watched him. Plus Wenger rarely gets it wrong with the ability of his forwards.
Also they said SSN he's SKs captain, that can't hurt.
Back-up striker? We need an actual No. 9. Why are we filling the club with the same dross we've been dumping this summer. Feck
Chamakh is a back up striker. You happy with him? Why get another player of similar quality? Jesus wept, we are Arsenal FC! We need to do much better!
Allow me to quote one guy on twitter:
Park is 26 years old, nearly 6ft and isn't Chu Young to play at Arsenal.
Perhaps not Chu Young, but Chu Crap to play at Arsenal.

No, I'm actually not. I'm waiting with judging a player (who people that actually watch French football says is pretty good) till I've seen him play. But of course, some people will complain about anything other than Benzema/Kaka. What we need is a replacement for Bendtner. This seems to be an upgrade on him.
