20 millions isn't that bad for a player his age, when you consider the potential resale value. Our midfield has some good players but i dont think they combine well as a unit offensively, defensively or even at controlling the game. We need a new addition and Jack back. Then Song or Arteta depending on the game. Between injuries and ACN there's games for everyone.

Yeah, that's probably us out of the race then. All this talk about how we want to make our signings early but Stade Rennais have no need to sell him before the Euros (I think he still has 2 years left on his contract after this summer) so a bidding war is probably likely. City and Madrid don't need him but may want to hoard him, and I could easily see Chelsea and why not, even Spurs trying to get him.

Exactly. My point is that we'd be better off upgrading our attacking midfield options, which Wenger wouldn't do because Wilshere should be back by next season, or our winger quality, which Wenger wouldn't do as that would stifle the development of AOC and we cant forget the returning Ryo.

Song is quite good whenever he is asked to focus on his primary duty. And he wouldn't have to attempt the Xaviesque or Zidanesque if the wing supply and creativity from the midfield was adequate.

What if Song is sick. Or Cameroon win their 4 games to qualify for AFCON 2013? What if we need to build an impermeable barrier before Koscielny and Vermin? This boy must come.
In terms of the attack, I'm with Daimler. The only guy I want at this stage is Kagawa, once Podolski is in. Wilshere will be back and Rosicky has shown that he can be a good 15 - 20 game option.
