thats exactly how i feel. from my time in london, i felt the metropolitan police were like night/day compared to nyc police. they actually dont seem like power tripping sociopaths in london, just normal guys keeping an eye out.
anyway, good job by the police in showing bigger numbers and taking a harder stance. i agree with the consensus here that it would be very different if this were a political thing, but it's not. it's just dickheads seeing an opportunity to be dickheads - show them who's boss and they'll go back into the gutter from whence they came.
