It really gets on my last nerve when the youths who run riot in this country are generalised as "black". It's not a black thing, a white thing, an Asian thing - it's kids who has been brought up without being taught the importance of respect. For others, for their surroundings and for themselves.

I know that idiot was saying ignorant stuff in Arsenal Talk, and I thougth that was good enough to get the boot. That was before I'd seen this.
But to be serious though, this is an issue that goes beyond NLG1. if you spend some time looking at comments on websites like the Guardian, CNN etc on stories about the riot, there is a lot of anger directed towards blacks and claiming that they are responsible for the riots. I see black kids in the riots, but I also see people of other hues being arrested. One quote that stuck out for me on CNN was 'if blacks move into your neighborhood, you're doomed'. A lot of posters agreed with it. Reminded me how far away we are from being an accepting, integrated world.

There is a horrible racist undercurrent in Britain that always bubbles up at times like this. Its half the reason shit like this happens in the first place. All you have to do is look at the scenes in front of you to realise there are all races involved in the looting, rioting, etc. People just want someone to hate because they aren't happy and someone has to take the blame.
