For all of wengers faults I think after the wilshere stuff he is doing the right thing with chambo. He slowly eased him in then burst him onto the scene then eased him in and out to not overdo it. Also with the sale of arshavin he has practically said the spots yours if you want it.

Wenger has been quite clearly doing the right thing with Chamberlain. I think for Chamberlain to come on around 75 min and enjoy the lovely end of the game might be better than starting only to find out he was still not that ready and came off at halftime. Not that it would have to happen if he started, of course not, but Wenger is slowly getting him in there trying to avoid these "downs" he was talking about; "slowly" is the important word there. Chamberlain has all the time in the world, fuck all will happen if he plays just a little half of all the games until the end of the season, he's just so good he'll grab the starting place just as Walcott (I know) did sooner or later.

Indeed. When the players start getting injured he then blames Wenger for over playing them at a young age when their bones and bodies aren't strong enough.

That might be true Sam if we were just humming along nicely into our 4th place parking spot.
But these are desperate times- we're not exactly over burdened with top class attacking players are we? And like the aforementioned Wilshere AOC is obviously a cut above the rest.
Ideally you would ease a young player in so as not to risk injury against more powerful fully developed men, but Alex seems tough enough.

On the contrary Claudy- I think its Wenger being stubborn and indeed spiteful towards us the supporters who want to see more of him.

I don't think it's out of stubbornness and spite that he left Chamberlain out of the starting XI on Sunday.
I think he was so terrified of losing that he went with the old heads and the more experienced players.
I was on the brink of meltdown when I saw who he had selected but to be fair he got it 100% right.

How to fuck anyone can criticise Wenger's selections after that result at the weekend is beyond me. Granted we went two down initially, but that was down to poor defending and bad luck, in no way can Wenger take the blame for any of that. Those players he picked showed everything you would expect from a player out there in coming back to win the game. In actual fact, Wenger's stubborn nature is likely to have been the major reason in putting the game beyond doubt. Had he bowed to fan opinion, Walcott would have been off and it's debateable if we would have got another two goals.

Oxlade hasn't really done anything for a few games.

But Spurs were vulnerable to pace all game. I'd have hooked Benayoun at half time against Spurs for either Gervinho or Ox. And as I don't like Benayoun or Gervinho, that's an easy choice.

Also, if anyone was in danger of coming off at half time, it was Theo.

Why? Benayoun was the least effectual attacker on the day.

As Arsene correctly observed, Spurs were vulnerable to players with pace making runs in behind. He wasn't talking about Benayouseless, that's for sure.

I both agree and disagree with you Asa. Not much came off for Walnut in that first half and he was our poorest player out there, BUT, he kept making those runs behind their back 4!

Afterwards though when hearing Wenger it became quite clear that he wouldn´t have taken Theo off.

yet exactly one minute from the restart Fridel made probably his greatest save to thwart benayoun (which I'm sure you could see was going in). And he did have a good game, regardless of his effectual reputation. Reputations were useless in this game, more than anything.
