I prefer him on the right, too, was just pointing out that Wenger usually always plays him on the left.

You're right but I was always under the (obviously misguided) impression that it was because of Walcott.

Anyone catch Mark Chamberlain on TalkSport yesterday? I was in and out doing the gardening so I didn't listen to everything, but I did hear him talking briefly about his boy's best position. Said that he has ALWAYS played central midfield/attacking midfield and has basically only played wide for a little over 12 months. Said that, in his opinion, Alex has not done too badly considering he's been 'winging it' (figuratively speaking) and doesn't really understand or know the position yet.

Just a little tidbit.

Not really strange Capi, he does it all the time to make players more well rounded.

Generally, he doesn't just move them for the laughs though. He makes that decision early and sticks to it but I suppose that works both ways in relation to what I've said there.

wenger does a lot of weird shit. my best guess would be that he didnt want chamberlain and coquelin defending the same left side, and opted for the more experienced winger ahead of the young frenchman. that sort of makes sense, but i havent thought chamberlain's been that bad at all defensively.

It made sense for the first seven minutes when Coquelin was still on the field maybe. But after that? It seems more like a case of Wenger not trusting Gervinho on the right hand side.

I think "Wenger knows" should pass into general usage as a phrase for "everybody knows the situation is seriously fucked up, but there isn't anything anyone can do about it."
