Good to have him on board, if he turns out to be as useful as Wilshere, Ramsey or even Walcott then I'll be happy.
Quite a few British players in the side now, would be good/funny to see this side at some point.
Szczesny (close enough)
Jenkinson
Bartley
Jagielka
Gibbs
Frimpong
Wilshere
Ramsey
Walcott
Afobe
Chamberlain
I ain't no Brit, but this is important to me. It's good to see that we can field a British + Szcxnzsy team that can be competitive with the lower half of the table right now. That is progress for a team that a few years ago had only Walcott as a useful senior player.
In terms of our priorities this season, it will hardly help, but in 3 or 4 years time, this British spine will be welcome. Unless the earth spins off its axis, we are not going to lose British players to Europe. Our only threat will be United, Chelsea and Citeh, and even then only mercenaries will go. More Brits, fewer homesick Spaniards. Throw in Cahill and we're grinning like Oxhead
