Goes to show that the argument that "we lose without Arteta because without him, we've only got less disciplined alternatives like Song" needs more scrutiny doesn't it?

Not saying Song has covered himself with glory on the defensive discipline front lately - had a bit of a mare against Norwich as widely noted.

Song has played a less disciplined role this season, most neutrals were astonished that he could play such deft passes, but we Arsenal fans knew he was capable of it.
But like the case of Vermaelen or teenage sex, does a moment of pleasure justify months and months of regret.
Would it not be better if they did their proper jobs really well?

Song, Vermaelen or whoever going forward and helping the attack should be a bonus. In any other side they'd love it if their defensive mid or centre half were chipping in like that in the final 3rd. The problem we have is they never know the time to do it. When Vermaelen came in I can remember being delighted with his ability to stay back as Gallas made the same ill timed forward runs as Thomas does now yet over the years he's developed the same problem. Is that Vermaelens fault? I doubt it. I think its a coaching problem.

MOTD pundits chat the most bullshit ever, like "never write off united". Also how comes MOTD are constantly supporting united even when city have been ahead, whenever united go ahead they act like sanity has been restored and whenever city win they act glum. They even were saying united wrapped up the title in march, talk about bias and the control manu have over the media. If i was a city fan id be pissed at the way MOTD have been biased.

I changed my mind so many times about where I thought we'd end up.
A world away from the top two but we're better than Spurs and Newcastle

I just can't work it out. Obviously we're nowhere near challenging with this squad, it surprises me that we are where we are though.

Agreed, had the management of the club not have thrown away the first 7 games of the season our CL qualification would never have been in doubt.

Subsequently we've done well to claw ourselves back, so props to the manager and players for that.

But we're no where near challenging for the title and it's just gotten a whole lot harder. Both City and United will strengthen.
