So if we finish third and Tottenham 4th, do we want Chelsea to win the CL? I'm torn.

Just want this season to be over have some time out from the turmoil and then look forward to next season with the newbies Podolski Kagawa and M'Vila plus Robin signed up and Jack better.

our fight to be on top of spuds is almost exactly the same as manu fight with city, city were ahead all season then united took over and city messed up and then united messed up and city are now back in it. Similarly we were behind them then took over whilst they fucked up and now they are closing in whilst we mess up with dodgy draws and losses with qpr wigan and stoke. It will go either united win the title and we finish third or city win the title and we finish fourth. United v City is going to be massive.

We say that every season and the next one is the same.
Cue speculation about which of our best players will leave which exciting prospect we'll get, and come August Wenger is still here and we'll have signed some unknowns some will be half decent and some will be dross.
Rinse and repeat.

Indeed. Even if we miss out on the champs league I'd be excited going into next season.

Dula, if we miss out on Champions League, we're not getting M'Vila or Kagawa.
We might end up with a Navas or Reyes. Something like that.

I'd still be excited. We'd focus mainly on the league and we'll be better when ack is back and the youngsters have come on. Just think the future is good.

I would bet money were not getting them regardless. We need to start selling players to free up squad places as it is.

Arshavin wants to come back, Denilson, vela, bendtner, frimpong, Lansbury, ryo etc etc all need to be dealt with.

That's not even starting to look at our current squad and reserves/youth.

I reckon we will buy one player.

All football support involves a touch of madness, sometimes even more than a touch 🙂

I know it's probably a bit crazy to believe things will be someway different next season but that's how I instinctively feel about it now, so there's no point in saying otherwise, even if that sounds stupid to people who see it differently.

i'm optimistic too. the character/personality of our team has changed with the departure of certain players and the introduction of mature, intelligent players like arteta, santos and mertesacker. we're not there yet, but things are closer to how they should be.

there's a lot of cleaning house to be done with all the flotsam, but i think the club knows what needs to be done this summer.

^ Agreed, generally speaking it seems harder to get the team to develop the correct attitude than buy a few players who can pass the ball around which is why we've suffered. The question is: has the attitude of the manager and the board changed as well?

I can definitely see us signing two or three attacking players. Hopefully we'll replace Fabianski too if he goes. I'd like a fullback who can play on both flanks as well. I would sleep a lot better knowing that we're not relying on Jenkinson or Gibbs to stay fit when the regular players are out.

We'll probably sign Pololski and a couple of kids. Then if RVP or Theo leave we'll probably down grade for Robin and just promote from within for Theo.

You can change as many players as you want but the change that matters won't be made.

Well that was the reason many of us us hoped Chelsea would beat Barcelona too.

I'm afraid thats the lot of the modern day Arsenal supporter- to watch teams you especially hate fight it out for top honours, until the Fail Guy is gone.

On that note, here's a depressing lengthening of the odds for happiness—because Newcastle play City, it's now rather unlikely that the following three events will coincide:

United NOT winning the league
Spurs NOT qualifying for the Champions League
Chelsea NOT winning the Champions League

I think at this point I'm hoping City win the title, Spurs continue to collapse, and Chelsea qualify for the CL in 4th, but lose the CL final.

Trust me, you'd rather the c*nts next door qualify for the Champions League. Chelsea will always be able to buy players, but they'll be able to buy super quality players if they are in the Champions League. Spurs will just make a bit of noise, sign Adebayor permanently, keep monkey and rat, and then fail to balance the demands of league and champions league again.
