I think Newcastle might actually gazump one of us/Spurs. They are flying and have a very winnable run-in. Idiots like Dalglish really should be banned from fucking up this league. Newcastle would be nowhere without that Carroll money.

I'm going to be massively pissed if we don't see some major strides forward in the transfer market this summer. All the clubs around us are hungrier for glory than our board is/(were?)

It's true what Captain said in another thread - one loss to QPR and everyone's gone off the deep end (maybe not his exact words).
Obssessing about the irrelavance that is Chamakh and stressing about Newcastle 🙂

Nah, I think it just brought back the frustrations and questions that have been a constant this season(and longer) that were temporarilly muted by a good run. I was baffled when journos started talking about Arsenal as a shoo-in for third last week. If we've seen anything over the past month, it's how quickly things can change both for the good and the bad.

At 3 pm tomorrow we'll know whether we need to win against City or not in order to keep the third place. I'm pretty confident that Spurs will drop points against Sunderland but you never know. They've got a bit of momentum going again.

I don't think I needed these last few months to show me that football fortunes can go quickly from bad to good to bad.

Chamakh was not the problem against QPR - Vermaelen was, he'd better rediscover his form and compusure for the City game.

RVP needs to be up for this as well. Chances he previously would have scored blindfolded he has missed in our last few games. Don´t think there is room for that come Sunday.

Yep I've thought he's looked a little heavy legged and laboured of late, hopefully he's back to being razor sharp on Sunday.

You're getting into details. Do you not remember how we fell apart at the end of last season? As soon as wenger's teams get near crunch time they tend to go into a shell. Don't see how you can't be worried?

Worried about what? Newcastle overtaking us? No, I'm not 🙂

Losing to QPR didn't send me into a spin and plunge me back into stressing that we'd finish behind Spurs or out of the top four either.

This isn't a team like last season's team, these players want to be here and they want to finish ahead of Spurs.
As ambitions go it's limited but that's all we've got left this season.
Prior to the Spurs game I was despairing, I thought we'd get murdered at the Emirates but we showed up, turned things around and subsequently reduced the gap to nothing.
That counts as something positive for me.

There is a lot more fight and spirit in this season's version of the team.
Our away form is still poor though, and I would not trust that we'll get 9 points from our remaing three away games unless Szczeney and our back four are 100% and one of either Robin, Theo, Gervinho,Rosicky are bang on form or Wenger decides to use Chamberlain more.

Like I said I'll only start to worry if we don't take points from the City game.

No smoke without fire, the reason everyone's "gone off at the deep end" is the illusion of progress is shattered once again, and we were all reminded (as if it were needed) that Wengers team has yet again failed to deliver for the seventh season in a row.

Exactly Biggus. The alarm bells are ringing loudly. I don't trust this team. A limpless run of form is always just around the corner. What pissed me off about the qpr result was that it followed several media stories in which a number of our players were saying "I knew we had the quality to get back" or such like. The attitude turned and that's what happened.
