I also don't think it's a coincidence that our resurgence has coincided with Sagna's return.
Yes and no. It obviously is something we were badly missing - a good RB, knock on effect on Theo's game, we were missing avenues to goal and we got them recently. Thus far the yes. No, because attributing all of it, or even a critical part of our resurgence to it would be too much. Getting a proper LB playing there and TV-Kos at CB, and even more clearly, Rosicky's (insert word to describe rebirth-miracle-transformation) coincides perfectly with our rise from the lowest point to the brightest.
The Bac return effect is actually something I hope to see on the left side with Santos, if he regains form quickly enough. They were out for the same period of time, and the effect on our attack, IMO, was even more brutal on the left - Santos was becoming one of our key contributors going forward prior to his injury, certainly more than Bac. Also interesting to think how he'll combine with the current left winger, who was not playing yet when he was injured (more reasons to be cheerful 🙂 ).
But I do agree Bac is just awesome, and that it was really strange when people were doubting his value. I don't know if there's anyone in the league I'd take for him - probably none.
