It's exactly that. Today was anything but pretty but the lads got the job done. We were lucky with the offside goal but I'd back this current bunch to find a winner from somewhere. 1-0 to the Arsenal indeed. All that were missing was a Bould flick-on at the near post.
3rd is a bigger prize than simple bragging rights in Norf Landan, it also gives us the opportunity to offer Van Persie and potential new signings guaranteed CL football. That is big. But missing out on 4th would be a disaster - even if we had been preparing for it little less than 6 weeks ago. Right now, we expect 4th place at the least. And rightly so - I think Chelsea will find it difficult to balance the fixtures of the FA Cup and Champions League in any case. So I wouldn't be too disheartened by a Chelsea win over Tottenham. I think we'll do the job versus Villa which will allow us to open up a 4 point gap over Tottenham. But I think a draw in that game would be the safest result for us.
