Cazorla is the most exciting semi-genuine link of the summer for me, so I hope we can make it happen.

Timmy he doesnt know who he is. He even grinned at the thought of him being paid 7 huge ones a year and not even knowing some of the players the media link us with.

Think if we don't sign Carzola this summer, we are going to struggle real badly for top 4. He is our best hopes amongst all linked to us and the best player linked as well.

Then again to put things into perspective, he isn't even as good as Hazard and Kagawa... but better than nothing

He's as good as both Kagawa and Hazard. If he'd been playing in France or Germany these last 2-3 seasons he'd have shone as much as those two.

Arteta and Cazorla would be immense in midfield, we need to wrap this up quickly.

would be an excellent signing. terrific player.

yep, he's top notch. impressed me when he played against us too. cant believe some dont rate him

By 'us' I'm presuming you mean the 15 minutes he played against England?

Because he's never played against Arsenal.

Yeah, that's the look.
Don't see it very often these days from Wenger.

Yep, meant the campaigns just before his major injury.

Quality player. Impressed me when I saw him play for Spain v USA last year

Nice!

Negotiations have taken place between the clubs and, although Málaga's initial response was to point to Cazorla's €45m buy-out clause and effectively discourage Arsenal's interest, the Spanish club's worrying financial situation, which could see them relegated if they do not pay outstanding debts, might force them to sell.

Cazorla wants to leave Málaga, the club he joined for €19m last summer from Villarreal, after wages went unpaid during the campaign and promises were broken. The 27-year-old has told Málaga of his intention to depart and he has also spoken to Arsenal to tell them he is keen on joining them.

Ooooo :o I knew Wenger was up to something 🙂
Yay!
OK must attempt calm until this gets even more real.
Excited though.

I'm going to keep my cock firmly tucked into my sock.

Will not get burnt again like Mata last summer.

Also coming from Guardian! Best bit is at the end "Meanwhile the Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is in talks with Galatasaray"

Our financially stable, self sustaining, guarantee to pay the wages model, will play in our favour now 🙂.
The fact that Cazorla's keen (maybe even slightly desperate given that his wages aren't secure) is half the battle.
Can't help it - the more I think about this, the more sense it makes for all parties.
Plus none out of City, Chelsea, United, Real or Barca are interested.

Back in 2006 and 2007 I watched every Villarreal game in La Liga. Cazorla was an incredibly frustrating player back then: slow, showed no creativity, and his game consisted mostly of losing the ball or doing sideways passes. Then he'd step up for a few minutes each game to keep a fan base. He was essentially Denilson.

I can't help but worry about this, but then again that was 5 years ago and chances are he is a completely different player now.

Cazorla is widely regarded as the best player outside Madrid and Barcelona. Better than Silva. Thats why i can't see us signing him. We just don't sign players of that calibre anymore. I expect a bigger team to show interest and muscle their way past us in the queue to sign him.

We identified him as a replacement for Fabregas last season but we were ponderous and lost him to Malaga . Similar scenario as Mata.

There's still elements of that in his game, but then that was the case with Mata and Silva in their Valencia days. He'll be a damn good signing if we can get him, and exactly the technical whippet we need to push our game up a notch.

This.

The little I saw of him in his earlier career wasn't too impressive. Good footwork and technical ability, but not nearly influential enough in games. Produces the occasional moment of magic and trickery, but not an extremely special player.

I'm not too sure if he's what we need, or want either.

Scouting reports from 5 years ago don't really reveal much, if he's indeed been the best player outside of Madrid and Barcelona last season then it's fair to say that he's turned a corner.
