Instead of taking a gamble worth 20 million its better get 20 million from nasri sale replace him with mata.But as i have said earlier wenger has decided to take this gamble in the hope that nasri will have a miraculous change of heart..

What a fucking mess. If we'd offered Nasri 115k a week a few months back he'd have probably signed on the spot.

I say either keep both and try and have a great season, then see where we stand next summer, or flog both and rebuild. This keeping one if the other goes to appease the fans is for the birds. But whatever decision is made it needs to be done quick, cos the club has looked weak all summer.

That's where i feel before somebody turns the player's head you proactively deal with the situation at the earliest.

I am not saying 100% nasri would have signed on the dotted line if we offered those wages a few months back , but i surely feel there would have been a much much better chance of convincing him.Now with the man-city dangling those carrots in-front of him the hare has decided to jump at the earliest opportunity

That money needs to be reinvested in the squad but these changes need to happen quickly. We are just 3 weeks away from the most difficult start to a season that i can remember since i started following the club.

Modric has sent in a transfer request, used the press to know his dissatisfaction at not being allowed to move and Tottenham have done rather well to hold out for more than £35 Million.

If Tottenham gets that fee for Modric i will be pretty upset if we got only £40 Million for Fabregas with 3 years left on his contract.

This is the by far the worst summer.

I agree this summer is going to be hard to swallow if it pans out how it appears it's going to. Gutting.

Is the Modric deal officially happening now then?

Maybe, maybe not. But it wouldn't be the first time we've low balled a good player, only to end up offering him the money he wanted all along but too late. I'm thinking Edu, Ashley Cole, Flamini....

Given how late in the day it is and all these things are still going on - unsettled players, no recruits - I think we will have a real shocker of a season. I predict we will be no higher than 5th in December.

i just dont see what the big deal is. nasri out, mata in, we probably even benefit a bit financially, which wenger and the board should love, and don't lose quality on the pitch, either. it's a win/win/win situation.

Do you recall how long it took Nasri to be good? We seriously have to hope someone like Mata (if we care to buy him) adapts as quickly as Sagna, Vermin or Arshavin did. And as for Arshavin, he wasn't really playing within the offense. He just had the ability to create space for himself and make his own shot. Can we trust Mata to do that?

and like you say, how long did it take arshavin, vieira, sagna? each player is different and there is no avoiding the bedding in period, however long or short it may be. but i'd rather bed in a 20m player of international quality than conor henderson.

the situation already is what it is, some of you have not accepted that nasri is off. all the cons you mention to selling him this summer will apply equally next summer, except we will be short 20m.

Can't stand him there, but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that he's a quality, quality footballer out wide.

He's at his best making runs behind defenders, getting in the box to finish off moves, taking on full backs out wide.

Now either his demands to play through the middle, or Wenger's belief that he can replace Cesc (or maybe both!) has seen him spend most of his minutes during pre-season behind the striker, and it's painful to watch. Personally I find it hard to believe that Wenger would allow a player to dictate who he picks in what positions, but I do feel Nasri has an ego beyond his talent, and I just get the impression that he doesn't realise his own failings there.

As I've said before, if City offer £20million we should deal.

I have a horrible feeling Nasri will be going through the motions where ever he plays this season. Seriously, sell him and use the next 12 months to bed someone in. We're only delaying the inevitable here.
