The real problem is our obvious and sickening lack of ambition and true competitiveness as a football club. We have forgotten that the primary reason for existence of a club is to win trophies, and have become satisfied with our own definition of success- champion's league qualification.
No player in his right mind, who is approaching the prime of his powers, and wants to be remembered as part of a title/trophy winning team will or should sign for us under our current setup. The only people we are currently successfully signing up are players who want to make a name for themselves in the game and, if or when they do, move on to clubs which can match their ambitions.
