Found these stats interesting, goes without saying they aren't proof of anything:

Arsenal's win % with Cesc Fabregas starting in the Prem Lge over the last 3 seasons is 61% & 43% without him. 2010-11 with 64% & w/o 31%

nasri's actual performance has never been that great. besides aug-dec 2010, he's been pretty average for us, and there's no way he could replace fabregas centrally. he has very average vision and final ball. i really think there are at least a dozen players in the 10m-20m range who could replace him without missing a beat.

that said, i'd rather hold onto him if reasonably possible.

I know it's not good losing two of our best players, but im sick of all this uncertainty and we haven't won anything with them anyways.

Shue said it well over in am when he said he'd rather see us relegated than pander to mercenaries and I feel that way too. All the enjoyment of following arsenal has been sucked out over these past fee years through this shitty softly softly passive management. It's down right crud in my book.

I've seen Gervinho in full games.
I have never seen Oxhead other than in highlights. He looks better than Walcott at the same age, but I'm tired of kids. It's that simple with him. I'll take a kid who's already proven himself at a very high level like Neymar, but I do not care for another project. It's nothing against Oxtail in particular. It's against our system.

Of course Capi but as I'm sure you'll agree, they need to be supplemented by quality older players. It says it all that we're willing to pay as much on Chamberlain as we are on Gervinho.

I empathise with Cali on this as I see where he's coming from. I just don't see our situation getting better with the way this summer is going - Chamberlain is just a reminder of that fact.

It doesn't matter to me if we sign a potentially brilliant player and nobody else; two wrongs don't make a right. The quality is there, it is available and we should snap it up, it's really that simple.

i don't even know what this is supposed to mean. are you somehow saying kagawa and pastore aren't "proper quality"? if not, then what's your point? i have for instance said very little about alvarez and miyaichi who could almost fit the "thwo-bob south american team" and "bloke from the second division in japan" description...

Well not if its going to be for anything like the £12m reported and we've a limited budget.

Although I suppose with the sales of Nasri, Cesc and Clichy that wont really be an issue any more. Wouldn't be surprised to see us end the summer in profit if Cesc goes.

£6-7m upfront. We'll raise that in just the tribunal fees from the kids who have left and the loan fees from whoever goes out this season.

We should snap him up if we can't get our super quality players. My view is that we should buy Oxtail rather than let the money sit at the end of the summer, but he should not be a priority target.
