I'm not too upset about Jones either, but if we were willing to spend £16m on him, the club obviously were.

The bit about playing ball still comes back to Wenger though - he has the influence to change things if he wants to. The board may take the blame, but if Wenger stamps his feet, they'll still shit themselves.

He really doesn't.

Capi, how would you see board room issues diminishing our interest in established players?
Or you referring more to cost than experience?

Nothing to do with 'interest'; fact is that players move clubs based upon whatever shit they are fed by their agents. For them it is almost like their dad telling them not to move to a certain team (in some cases it is literally their dad 😆 ).

If you want a ferrari enzo, you go to the dealer and pay him his commision to get hold of it...

How much has Steve Bruce spent on nonsense from Manchester United? 12 million pounds for that mob is just downright crazy. Steve Bruce should be able to pick up players of that quality for nothing from the Championship or recently-relegated teams. He knows how to take care of Sir Alex.

Speaking of scrubs, it's disappointing to see very little reported interest in Denilson and Bendnter given that they have openly declared their desire to go be winners.

I don't know if 12m is that ridiculous once you factor in the undefinable "winning mentality". Why, with the winning mentality those three have between them I wouldn't be surprised if Sunderland finished top four. 😉

More seriously, the whole package deal is bizarre though - hard to believe Gibson, O'Shea and Brown would be terribly pleased at being treated as a job lot.

"Three head of no mark United cattle."

It's like Bruce won a refuse collection contract, but HE'S paying to take on the trash.

Rumours we'll go for willian. Denilson plus 4m that'd be a good bit of business

The stadium will be paid off in no time.

They'll move to europe.

😆 😆 😆

If Denilson can't handle life under Wenger I hate to think how he'd manage with Steve Bruce eyeing him across the morning bowl of porridge.

Well, I tend to think he does really, the man's changed pretty much everything at the club in the last 15 years, and rumours suggest he's been the one that's pulled the pin on a few deals over the years over what is considered to be 'relatively' loose change.

If he started demanding the board played ball, the board that he sits on anyway, I'm pretty sure they'd jump.

I reckon they'd be a great deal for £12m. O'Shea would start for most non top 4 sides. Brown is fairly solid and would do a decent job in the mid table and I hear Gisbon makes a mean Mojito.

So even Napoli, on the back of qualifying for the CL once, can smash our record transfer fee!?

Arsenal are so financially conservative it's fucking unreal.

He would be an upgrade on Song IMO. In that context the fee isn´t silly.

I still cant believe Toulalan is going for less than £10 million! We should be all over that like white on rice!

But you zee Tim we cannot go and pay £50m for one player as you are asking...

Barca have announced that their summer transfer budget is just over £40m for new signings, plus whatever money that they earn through selling players.

There's also the usual inevitable mention of Cesc's repatriation.
If they've only got £40 m readily available then they'll have to get active on the selling front if they are planning on moving for him this summer.
